5 Best Conveyancing Solicitors in Glasgow for Smoother Moves
I’ve approached enough sharp real estate lawyers in Glasgow to know that being good with paperwork isn’t enough. I want someone who understands missives, Offers Over chaos, and tenement-specific burdens.
The best conveyancing solicitors in Glasgow should make buying, selling, or remortgaging feel doable and less intimidating. For this review, I looked at firms with proper Scottish property know-how and Law of Scotland credibility.
How much does conveyancing in Glasgow cost?
Conveyancing in Glasgow usually costs around £500 to over £1,500 (plus VAT) for solicitor fees, depending on whether you’re buying, selling, or remortgaging.
For purchases, budget extra for outlays like Registers of Scotland fees, property searches, bank transfer fees, and LBTT if the property price qualifies.
In recent times, a simple remortgage may sit closer to £450 to £650 (plus VAT), while full purchase or sale work can climb higher if the property has a mortgage, tenement burdens, title quirks, or extra search requirements.
1. Raeside Chisholm Solicitors Limited

Address: Tontine House, 8 Gordon St
Contact: +441412483456
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
Raeside Chisholm felt like the kind of conveyancing firm I’d send a first-time buyer to, especially when Offers Over begin sounding like a joke. They handle buying, selling, mortgage discharge, equity release, commercial property, litigation, family law, and elderly client services.
For my first-time-buyer friend, the big plus was guidance through the Scottish bidding maze. He was made to understand the intricacies of missives, Home Reports, searches, and paperwork so they became less intimidating.
He described communication with the firm as more traditional/professional than flashy digital-first. The phone and online enquiry options helped make that first call a solid step into making local Glasgow property sense for him.
There’s no published fixed menu, though my pal mentioned competitive conveyancing fees. He was also kept informed during house-sale work, which is exactly what he needed when completion nerves were doing the Highland fling on him.
However, the main drawback for him was the absence of a first-time buyer package, which would have helped immensely for buyers who want experienced local hand-holding plus friendlier rates.
They always responded quickly and explained the process clearly
I would highly recommend Ifet Raza and Amani Zuhoor in the residential conveyancing team. They are true professionals and took time and had lots of patience with me when dealing with my flat sale. They were very supportive when the purchasers caused challenges. They always responded quickly and explained the process clearly. As mentioned highly recommend these individuals and the firm. I am so grateful for all the hard work they did.

Excellent communication and professional service
I would thoroughly recommend Raeside Chisholm for conveyancing. Pamela Livingstone came recommended by a friend, and she made the entire purchasing process smooth and stress-free. Excellent communication and professional service throughout.

2. McVey & Murricane

Address: 13 Bath St
Contact: +441413339688
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
McVey & Murricane specialises heavily in Scottish property law, conveyancing, lending, commercial property, and business legal services. They even have a dedicated Residential Investment Department that’s noted as one of Scotland’s largest!
No wonder my property-investor colleague went to them for his buy-to-let purchases and multi-unit acquisitions. He found their lender-side experience a real plus, aside from the firm having vast experience in the Scottish BTL market.
The digital-first approach is a bonus, with an online conveyancing quote, portal-style systems, and secure online handling. My work pal also appreciated the fast turnarounds, clear fee explanations, and plain-English updates.
There isn’t a single flat public fee for every investor scenario. They do emphasise detailed quotations and transparency, which was good enough for my friend, though he did admit that multi-unit work can push the fee higher.
His main issue is that the firm’s strength as a high-volume, tech-led property firm may not suit investors who want a boutique, sit-down hand-holding experience for every wee title wrinkle.
A clear system that made everything easy to follow
Easily the most straightforward and pain-free conveyancing experience I’ve had. The remortgage process was very efficient from start to finish, with a clear system that made everything easy to follow. Their FAQs covered almost everything, and whenever I did have a question, responses were quick and helpful. Costs were completely transparent too, with no hidden charges, which I found refreshing. Would happily recommend and use McVey & Murricane again.

The support and prompt response were second to none
As a first-time buyer with no knowledge of property purchase, I was filled with fear of the unknown. When I was referred to McVey and Murricane to help with my conveyancing process, from the first phone call, I felt relieved. Throughout the whole process, the support and prompt response were second to none. Thank you for your service and all the support. Kim was always prompt and very supportive throughout this process. Nothing was too much to ask, and I’m very thankful for all your help.

3. Kaur Sutherland Solicitors

Address: Atlantic House, 45 Hope St
Contact: +441416116000
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
My sister’s remortgage paperwork was starting to look like a council-tax fever dream. Good thing she went to Kaur Sutherland for help, since their core work covers residential/commercial conveyancing, remortgaging, equity release, wills, estates, and power of attorney.
They were a practical rather than a pompous pick for remortaging (my sister’s words), with fixed pricing, transparent conveyancing fees, and updates by phone, video, WhatsApp, or email.
She especially likes how they can extend local Glasgow property help without her being made to feel daft for asking questions.
Their residential and commercial property experience also meant title checks, lender admin, and any awkward tenement-style property details were firmly in their lane.
There’s no published remortgage fee table, but my sister allotted around £650 plus VAT for the legal fees, with extras ready for lender work and other details. She advises asking for a written quote before getting too cosy, though.
She also cautions borrowers with complex lender conditions to ask exactly who handles specialist remortgage work before signing them on.
Very efficient and takes no time replying
I’ve dealt with solicitors in past, but first time using Kaur Sutherland Solicitors, and the team provided an excellent service, especially Megan, who kept me posted throughout the whole process. Very efficient and takes no time replying, which I’m really impressed with. I’m so grateful to let Kaur Sutherland take care of it all. 100% recommended and thank you sooo much.

They were always there to answer any questions I had
I recently bought my first house and had Kaur Sutherland as my solicitors, such a great team & I’m so pleased with my experience. They were always there to answer any questions I had. The selling of the flat was delayed a bit (due to the seller’s issues); however, the team kept me fully updated and really pushed for me to get a new date, which suited me well. Thanks for all your help!

4. Clark Boyle & Co

Address: 33A Gordon St
Contact: +441412272200
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
My neighbours approached Clarke Boyle & Co when they were juggling a Southside sale and a West End purchase. The firm’s moving-home work covers sales, purchases, remortgaging, equity release, shared equity, land deals, and buy-to-let.
It’s safe to say they weren’t dabbling in conveyancing. For home movers, their process clearly includes missives, title deeds, searches, mortgage redemption, and Registers of Scotland work.
They deal with the unglamorous stuff that matters, and have a traditional approach with good support via phone, office contact, FAQs, and plain-English guides. My neighbours praised the firm’s local knowledge, too.
They also appreciated the refreshingly visible fixed fees: £695 (plus VAT) for a sale, £795 (plus VAT) for a purchase, and £395 (plus VAT) for a remortgage. Do note that these are before outlays like searches, registration, Advance Notice, and possible LBTT.
That said, their service looks to be more conventional than ultra-digital. Movers who want live app tracking may find this a wee bit old-school.
Made the whole buying process very quick and easy
Very happy with Clark Boyle Solicitors, in particular Lyndsey. She has been fast and efficient throughout. Always available and patient to answer any questions. We had a couple of issues, but Lyndsey sorted them out in no time, making the whole buying process very quick and easy. Highly recommend this solicitor.

Would not have made it through this whole process without her
We went with Clark Boyle to help us purchase our first home. It is such an exciting but stressful process. The team at Clark Boyle reassured and guided me through the different steps. I am naturally anxious and was probably, therefore, a more difficult client; however, they were very patient with me and were always so kind and polite with my numerous questions. Kristy McShane was our paralegal and, hands down, would not have made it through this whole process without her. I cannot recommend them enough!

5. Jain Neil & Ruddy Solicitors

Address: The Town House, 12 Sandyford Pl
Contact: +441412218778
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
Most times, I find myself firing in offers but not winning the keys yet on the property front. That’s the main reason why I keep Jain Neil & Ruddy on my speed dial.
Their big sweetener is simple: they don’t charge a fee for submitting an offer if it’s unsuccessful, which is a mercy in Scotland’s closing-date circus.
Their property team handles residential purchases and sales, investment purchases, letting-related buys, and mortgage-linked conveyancing. They also walk buyers through title deeds, missives, LBTT, registration, and mortgage paperwork.
Their process feels less like being battered by legal confetti, given their traditional, solicitor-led communication and fast, informative replies.
Pricing-wise, they don’t offer a fixed public fee table, but advise total transaction costs at the outset and break down fees and outlays early. I’d recommend them to buyers making offers in a competitive market.
That said, they don’t advertise fully remote conveyancing or app-style tracking. I would also still ask for a written quote covering searches, lender-panel status, and all outlays before signing.
We couldn’t fault the service given to us
Derek assisted us with both the selling and buying of a property. His communication was wonderful, very professional, and he kept us in the loop about every stage of the process. This was really important to us as he knew this was not something we had been through before. We couldn’t fault the service given to us, and we can’t thank him enough for his work on this – he made the whole process as straightforward as possible, and we would highly recommend the firm. They also sometimes have an office dog called Oscar – very cute but not a great lawyer.

They were able to progress things quickly
I found Jain Neil & Ruddy after an online search for conveyancing solicitors in Glasgow. From start to finish of my first-time buyer house purchase, they were fantastic! I initially dealt with Emanuela, who was always quick to respond to any of my emails and always gave detailed responses to any of my queries, especially if I didn’t fully understand something. She was always happy to help. I later dealt with Derek, who again was very quick at responding to my emails and quick at dealing with the legal side of things. They were able to progress things quickly through the sellers’ solicitors and made it a seamless process. I will definitely be using them again in the future and have already recommended them to friends and family. Happy customer.
