Need a food reset? Here are the 5 best nutritionists in Glasgow worth booking!
I love eating at the top restaurants in town as much as the next person, but lately, my treat night has become most nights. So now I’m looking for a good nutritionist who can help me eat cleaner before my life turns into fried chicken-fueled regret.
A quick sanity check for this review: “dietitian” is a protected title in Scotland (HCPC-registered and qualified for medical conditions), while “nutritionist” isn’t, so we looked into credible registrations like the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists.
And if you’re wondering about meal plans, most Glasgow nutritionists give personalised guides and education rather than rigid Monday to Sunday sheets, though some do offer structured plans or partner meal delivery for maximum hand-holding.
How much does a nutritionist in Glasgow charge?
In Glasgow, a nutritionist typically charges £110 to £150 for a 60-minute initial consultation, then £50 to £85 for 30 to 45-minute follow-ups.
Packaged support is often a better value; an IBS/FODMAP specialist package (3 to 4 sessions) costs £250 to £350, while monthly weight-loss programmes with ongoing support cost from £40 to £100.
If you add metabolic testing, budget another £70 to £100 on top.
You can also go the Registered Dietitian route at clinics like Ross Hall or Nuffield Health, as sessions may be covered by insurers such as BUPA, Aviva, or AXA, especially for chronic conditions like diabetes or heart disease.
1. Lesley Reid Nutritional Health

Contact: For booking, +447777640035
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
My bestie’s been trying to manage her weight without falling for another detox tea-era. Leslie Reid Nutritional Health felt like the grown-up answer for her, with its Glasgow-based registered dietitian whose advice lands like clinical common sense.
She liked the clinical focus that still felt livable: weight management, IBS/Low FODMAP, plus sports nutrition and general dietetic support when life and cravings get messy. She got the vibe that she could still enjoy food, but just needs to get strategic, which pleased the foodie in her.
She’s also on GLP1 weight-loss medication, and this place can help her make the meds work better long-term with good eating habits, protein, fibre, routines, and other decisions.
Lesley is HCPC-registered and listed with the British Dietetic Association, which is reassuring for those seeking evidence-based guidance. She also has a menopause-focused programme, which is a bonus should hormones become part of the plot twist!
That said, expect private practice pricing to reflect this level of expertise, especially if you need multiple follow-ups or specialist IBS support.
I now feel in control of my own weight loss journey
Lesley is extremely knowledgeable and approachable. It didn’t take Lesley long to determine the main causes of my weight loss problem, but it took me longer to change my long-held ‘bad’ habits and skewed mindset. Before consulting Lesley, I was disheartened and concerned that I would ever lose any weight, but with the tools provided by Lesley, I now feel in control of my own weight loss journey.

My digestive system is in much better condition
I knew I needed to lose weight, but didn’t know if I had the willpower. Working with Lesley showed me my problems were habit, not willpower, and gradually I have changed various unhealthy foods to more nutritious ones, and have gathered a LOT of useful info on food and drink to take forward. In addition, my digestive system is in much better condition with other changes Lesley encouraged me to adopt. I’m so glad I signed up with her – and I HAVE lost weight.

2. Marie Jarvis Nutrition

Address: Lamington Rd
Contact: https://www.mariejarvisnutrition.co.uk/contact
Business hours:
Wednesday, 1–5.30 PM
Friday, 10 AM–3 PM
My sister’s office decided one day that their wellbeing shouldn’t feel like a sad desk salad, so their boss called Marie Jarvis Nutrition, who was basically built for that brief. She offered workshops, seminars, healthy food tasting sessions, and on-site nutrition clinics for corporate work-life balance.
She and her colleagues appreciated how practical it was. They got education-first sessions that helped the staff make better decisions without banning birthdays or team lunches.
They also received healthy-eating articles for internal comms, which kept the health kick momentum going.
Marie’s brand is all about gut health, including bloating, constipation, and diarrhoea-type issues, rather than generic cutting out carbs. My sister reckons she’s ideal for workplaces that want a hands-on, food-positive programme, especially for teams juggling stress.
She’s a BANT-registered nutritionist and nutritional therapist, but not a registered dietitian, so those with medical conditions or insurer-led pathways may need an HCPC dietitian instead.
It was always backed up by well-set-out, written instructions
It was always a pleasure to see Marie. She manages to combine being completely professional with such warmth that all the sessions felt very comfortable. It was easy to discuss problems with her. She gave excellent guidance, which was always backed up by well-set-out, written instructions. She has made quite a difference to the way that I approach my diet, and my presenting problem has been minimised to a much more acceptable level. I am very grateful to her for all her advice; I am very glad that, following four months of her care, I feel significantly healthier.

We managed to get to the bottom of my problems with the help of Marie and a gut test
Where do I even start? I recently did the programme with Marie as I was at my wits’ end with my eczema. I’d tried every cream, every remedy, but I had never thought that my diet could be a contributing factor. Marie used her knowledge to help me understand this better, and we managed to get to the bottom of my problems with the help of Marie and a gut test. She has shared her knowledge with me to improve my diet, which has resulted in an incredible improvement in my skin condition. Marie was always patient and helped me to work around barriers with my diet by offering recipes and alternatives for me. She has changed my attitude towards food for the better! You really are what you eat. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Marie. You’ve changed my life for the better, my confidence has improved, and I am generally much happier. The results speak for themselves.

3. Irene McCabe, Naturopathic Nutritionist, Food Intolerance Therapist, Hypnotherapist, Bioresonance Therapist, Kinesiologist

Address: 5 La Belle Pl, Kelvingrove St
Contact: +441236739247
Business hours: Monday to Thursday, 9.30 AM–4.30 PM
Recently, my reflux has been doing that cute thing where it turns simple pasta into a bonfire in my belly. I wanted someone who could investigate and not just tell me to avoid spicy food after midnight.
Thankfully, I found Irene McCabe, who leans hard into food intolerance testing and a root-cause style consultation. It was perfect for me, who hated gut-related guesswork.
Her niche is very gut-first; she offers food intolerance testing and emphasises how it’s done with a bioresonance machine. She then wraps it into naturopathic nutrition support, with bundled options like a nutrition consult with a tailored plan, plus intolerance testing.
The practical setup didn’t make me feel as if I was in a fad-diet theatre. I got results and recommendations during the appointment, and the extensive test covered around 163 food items! She’s also upfront about common-sense safety limits, such as making sure I wasn’t pregnant during the test or wearing a pacemaker.
I’d recommend her to those with acid reflux or bloating issues, and who want a structured elimination strategy and follow-through. She’s also a good fit among those seeking a holistic, integrative one (aside from nutrition, she also offers hypnotherapy).
Do note that hers isn’t an HCPC-registered dietitian pathway, so if you need medical-condition management, she might not be well-suited.
Ready to use it to turn into the best version of myself
I did a food intolerance test after the birth of my second baby – Irene was so wonderful and knowledgeable – explained everything perfectly – and the test was just spot on – now taking all of the advice and confidence I received from the consultation today and ready to use it to turn into the best version of myself. Highly recommend!

I can honestly say it’s changed my life
I went for an intolerance test just under a year ago, and Irene could not have been more helpful and supportive. After almost a year of committing to my results and recommendations from Irene, I can honestly say it’s changed my life. I suffered from a lot of complex health issues and chronic migraines, which have all virtually disappeared. Could not recommend Irene more. She was excellent, and I can’t thank her enough for this new life she has given me!

4. Positive Life Nutrition

Address: Dorian Dr, Clarkston

Business hours:
Monday to Friday, 10 AM–5 PM
Saturday to Sunday, 10 AM–1 PM
My football teammate’s TTC (trying to conceive) journey has her tracking her ovulation like it’s a second job. She told me she wanted fertility support that has both evidence and planning, with fertility and women’s health being the main focus.
She was glad for Positive Life Nutrition’s precision-led setup. Led by Paula McPherson, the centre offers functional testing with phlebotomy, which is ideal for bloodwork-informed tweaks.
The centre is geared towards preconception, pregnancy, post-partum, and female health concerns like PCOS, PMS, thyroid, perimenopause, and menopause. My mum, sisters, and I took note of these, as we’re expected to go the full hormonal rollercoaster.
My pal liked the non-preachy and practical vibe of the place. It offers bespoke packages with structured follow-ups, like the pregnancy plan, which has an initial consult plus multiple longer reviews and check-ins. This meant she could build habits she could live with.
Paula is listed as a BANT-registered nutritional therapist and is a good fit for TTC or already pregnant clients who want a clear framework, testing-supported tweaks, and accountability rather than fad diets.
Do note that the more you add on (testing, phlebotomy, and/or longer packages), the more you’ll need to budget. It’s set up to do things properly, and not a DIY fix, after all.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone
This is a fantastic service for anyone looking to find out more and understand how food can change your whole life, from appearance to general overall well-being. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and I am feeling the benefits of this, and I am grateful for getting the help from Paula. She made the whole experience very easy.

Every one of my issues has improved
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but working with Paula has had a profoundly positive impact on my life. Following testing, Paula developed specific protocols to address the issues I was experiencing (headaches, acne, bloating). After putting in the work, every one of my issues has improved, giving me back my confidence. Paula was so easy to work with: always encouraging me and never making me feel like I’d done something wrong, even when I made mistakes. This meant I could be open and honest, and Paula could devise realistic goals to support the parts of the protocol that I found most challenging. I’m sad to be finished working with her, but she has given me all the knowledge and strategies I need to continue taking care of my body. It has been a pleasure to work with her!

Our coach wants the whole squad fuelled like athletes, and not living off post-training crisps. He called NutrEat, led by Penny Vlachou, and we found the experience refreshingly no-nonsense.
We were all given proper dietetic sessions that matched what we do during training. It helps that they are sports nutrition-focused with real-world structure. That meant we were looking at carbs, protein, recovery, and timing by training load and volume.
We also have teammates who swing between bulking season and the food-averse after a hard session, so Penny’s background in eating difficulties and disordered eating makes the tone feel safer and more grounded for all.
She’s an HCPC-registered dietitian and has been qualified since 2011 with specialised work across areas like weight management and diabetes, too. She was referred to our coach by other footballers who had plans that accommodated training, performance, and recovery.
That said, if your coach expects one perfect team plan that fits everybody, this won’t be that. NutrEat is built around individualised dietetic work, which takes time and buy-in.
Penny has given me a safe space to talk about food
Penny has given me a safe space to talk about food in a way I can’t with others – for me, this has included general nutrition, managing binge eating and learning to try new foods. I’ve now got recipe ideas and tips to manage my feelings around eating. It’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in years, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to improve their relationship with food.

I would never have got to where I am without Penny
From my first contact with Penny at NutrEat, I have had clear professional advice given in an extremely supportive manner. All recovery plans are clearly discussed, mutually agreed and a way to take these forwardis discussed. Resources suggested, including an App have been invaluable. All of this has been done in a compassionate, non-judgmental way. I would never have got to where I am without Penny. I have a long way to go, but if I’ve ever doubted my ability to continue, I have had amazing support and advice to move on. I would highly recommend this service.
