Going green is easy with the best solar panel installers in Glasgow!

✔ MCS accreditation and Scottish compliance - This is a non-negotiable for quality, warranties, and access to Home Energy Scotland grants and interest-free loans.

✔ Proper roof and yield assessment - A good installer explains orientation, shading, and realistic output for Glasgow daylight, not just best-case sunshine figures.

✔ Clear, itemised pricing - We want transparent quotes that separate panels, inverter, scaffolding, batteries, and aftercare; no vague “all-in” numbers.

✔ Local experience and after-installation support - Glasgow roofs, weather, and planning quirks matter, and so does knowing who to call if something needs fixing a year later.

I first asked my favourite roofing contractor about solar panels while he was up checking slipped tiles, mostly because my electricity bills were getting cheeky. Solar PV panels run on daylight, not just sunshine, so I know we can get electricity even on grey days.

He doesn’t install them, but he did recommend some good solar panel installers in Glasgow. That kicked off a deep dive into MCS-accredited installers who understand Scottish roofs, weather, and planning quirks.

I didn’t just look at prices; I looked for someone who could explain grants, interest-free loans, and whether solar would stack up on a west-facing tenement or semi.

Below are the installers we found who know local regulations, can navigate Scotland’s funding schemes properly, and won’t disappear once the scaffolding comes down.

How much do solar panel installers charge in Glasgow?

In Glasgow, most homeowners can expect solar panel installers to charge around £5,000 to £8,000 for a typical 3.5 to 4kW domestic system (fully installed).
Smaller setups may start closer to £4,000, while larger systems with battery storage can push £10,000 and up, depending on roof complexity and equipment choice.
The good news is that homeowners in Scotland can apply for funding through Home Energy Scotland, which often combines a grant with an interest-free loan to reduce upfront costs.

When I started to look into the best solar companies in Glasgow seriously, my roofer mentioned Sharp Energy Solutions. I wanted to cut down on energy bills without gambling on guesswork, and he mentioned this company has realistic output.

They are both MCS and RECC accredited, which mattered to me because funding and warranties hinge on it. Their core services include solar PV, battery storage, and EV chargers, with quotes broken down clearly instead of bundled fluff.

What really sold me was their experience handling Home Energy Scotland grants and interest-free loan applications, which removes a lot of admin stress. Communication stayed solid from survey to install, too.

They’re best for homeowners using government grants, especially if you want help navigating Scottish funding rather than figuring it out alone. They’re also easy to deal with locally and are clearly used to Scottish roof types and regulations.

That said, they’re not the cheapest quote you’ll get, especially once batteries are added. Lead times can also stretch during peak demand (roughly April to August), so this isn’t a last-minute install job if your bills are already biting.

Pros

  • Strong track record with Home Energy Scotland grants
  • Clear yield expectations for Glasgow weather
  • Fully MCS and RECC accredited
  • Offers solar PV, battery storage, and EV chargers under one roof

Cons

  • Pricing isn’t bargain-basement
  • Lead times can stretch in spring-summer
  • Less flexible for DIY-style installs

Customer Reviews

The installation was completed smoothly and more quickly than expected

We recently had 12 solar panels and a battery system installed by Sharp Energy Solutions, and we couldn’t be happier with the service. From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and clearly very knowledgeable. The installation was completed smoothly and more quickly than expected. Everything was left tidy, and they took the time to walk me through how the system works in detail. It’s great to support a family-owned business that genuinely cares about its customers. Highly recommend!

The price was competitive

I would recommend Sharp Energy Solutions. The guy came on the scheduled appointment to install a new solar panel inverter, as ours had stopped working and after less than 2 hours, we had the solar panels producing electricity again. The price was competitive, and communication was very good. Thank you for your service!

After several months of receiving atrocious energy bills, our entire office realised the building was basically begging for solar power. We decided on Eco Power Innovations, and from their first survey, they focused on real-world yield and cost savings.

They’re ideal for offices and landlords using government grants, especially where daytime demand lines up neatly with generation. They’re familiar with commercial rooftops and access logistics.

They’re easy to recommend due to their experience in guiding clients through proper Scottish funding applications and explaining payback in plain terms. We also appreciate the thorough communication throughout the process, as we couldn’t pause office operations because of things getting lost in translation.

They have MCS and RECC accreditation, too. This means compliance, funding, and warranties won’t give us anxiety down the line.

However, while they do domestic installs, their strength is in properly scoped, professionally designed systems rather than ultra-budget setups.

Pros

  • Gives realistic yield calculations for Scottish daylight
  • Handles domestic, commercial, and office installs
  • MCS & RECC accredited

Cons

  • Not aimed at ultra-cheap installs
  • Quotes can feel premium compared to volume installers

Customer Reviews

Everyone was very professional

Had the pleasure of dealing with the team from Eco. Everyone was very professional, lovely and friendly. Kept us up to date with everything that was happening from the survey to costings to installation. Took time to explain how everything worked and left everything clean and tidy. Would highly recommend this team to install solar panels.

Our neighbours already have their contact details from us!

The customer service we have experienced with EcoPower Innovations has been second to none. They were the first company to meet us and quote for fitting solar panels, and the benchmark set was such that no other company were able to equal or exceed. We especially appreciated the friendly, efficient and honest advice and communication, loaded with nothing but integrity. Not only would we not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family…our neighbours already have their contact details from us!

PWS Solar Installation won my Da over because they ticked every non-negotiable box before he even discussed savings. MCS registration, NAPIT approval, and insurance-backed warranties meant no grey areas and no pressure.

His pals recommended them to him for their transparent process and steady customer service, especially when navigating Scottish funding options without stress. The company is also a member of RECC, which shows in the accuracy of their quotes and paperwork.

They’re the go-to among homeowners prioritising compliance, grants, and long-term aftercare over bargain hunting. They explained realistic yield expectations for Glasgow daylight to my dad, and it helps that they also offer EV chargers and battery storage.

As for Da, he liked that the aftercare felt like part of the job. He was considering another company until he got feedback from its former clients that the post-installation support felt like an add-on more than a service (a begrudging one at that).

Do note they’re not the cheapest quote if you’re price-shopping online. And if it’s spring or summertime, there might be a bit of a wait for install dates.

Pros

  • MCS registered, NAPIT approved, and RECC member
  • Insurance-backed warranties
  • Strong focus on aftercare
  • No vague estimated savings pitches

Cons

  • Process-driven service may feel slow for decisive buyers
  • Slightly higher pricing

Customer Reviews

I have been very impressed with the whole experience

I would totally recommend PWS. I have been very impressed with the whole experience from the initial contact, assistance with planning our project (an EV charger), through to the fitting and completion. Paul and Alan were both excellent, and I will definitely use PWS again in the future. Paul was very thorough in scoping the job, explaining what would happen and helping me prepare for the fitting. Alan, who fitted the EV charger, was also excellent, polite, tidy and did a great job. If you are looking for a professional, friendly, expert and good value service, you should use PWS!

The work was exceptional

Fantastic service from the team at PWS. We were recommended by a friend who had used them previously, and we are very glad because the work was exceptional. Paul took me through the full process and answered any questions I had during the quotation phase, and Gordon’s work on the actual installation was extremely clean and neat, as shown in the pictures. When we eventually have solar panels fitted, we’ll definitely contact PWS and would recommend them to anyone considering a charger installation.

Swifftex was the one my eco-minded sister didn’t feel daft asking questions with, which matters a lot to a newly minted eco freak. She went in knowing she wanted solar but was unsure where to start. Thankfully, they met her exactly there.

They’re used to local roofs and daylight realities rather than ideal-world (tropical) projections. They’re a great fit for first-time solar installs like my sister’s and grant-backed projects, especially if Home Energy Scotland paperwork intimidates you.

My sister said it felt more like a neighbour explaining Scottish funding options and realistic savings properly than a company chasing a quota. She liked the absence of hard selling, giving her time to think things over before committing.

Solar PV is their bread and butter, with battery storage and EV chargers available if you’re thinking a step ahead. Warranties and consumer protection were all sorted for my sister from day one, thanks to their MCS accreditation and RECC membership.

If there’s an issue, it’s that they won’t rush an install just to squeeze you in. It’s not a last-minute decision kind of service, especially during peak seasons.

Pros

  • Highly approachable for first-time buyers
  • Patient guidance through Scottish funding and grants
  • Realistic expectations for Glasgow daylight and roof orientation

Cons

  • Not the fastest turnaround during spring and summer
  • Limited weekend survey availability

Customer Reviews

The guys were so helpful and had great communication

We recently had our solar panels fitted by Swifftex and I couldn’t recommend them enough. The guys were so helpful and had great communication with us prior to the job being done. Work was carried out professionally and efficiently! I will definitely be recommending to family and friends.

Couldn’t recommend them highly enough

Been helping a neighbour with their solar system which was supplied and fitted by Swifftex a few years ago. I needed assistance to set up a scheduling programme to charge the neighbours batteries and I called Josh. He was fantastic – really helpful, professional and obliging. It was a real pleasure dealing with him. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough – the system was fitted a while ago but he was still more than happy to be of assistance. Really impressed. Thank you.

I have a very cautious colleague who wanted to dip his toe into solar, mainly because Electropoint Installations offered him a free quote minus the hard sell. If you’re like him and want to see the numbers before committing, the company makes that first easy step without pushing for a decision.

They clearly know the local housing quirks and don’t overcomplicate things just to sound like pros. His first visit felt practical and pressure-free, which helped him actually listen and learn.

Solar panels, EV chargers, and batteries were explained to him in such a way that he was able to explain them to me, minus the jargon. His paperwork was all aboveboard, too; the company is both MCS accredited and a member of RECC.

He liked the calm, straightforward quoting and the way Scottish funding and payback were talked through realistically. He never felt rushed, which suits anyone trying to find their footing when it comes to solar panels in Glasgow.

The downside? In busy months (April to August), the free survey slots can fill up fast.

Pros

  • Offers free, no-obligation quotes
  • Clear, jargon-free explanations of costs, funding, and payback
  • Familiar with Glasgow housing stock

Cons

  • Not focused on high-end or luxury solar packages
  • Free surveys can book out during peak months

Customer Reviews

They deserve a 5-star rating

Found Electropoint on google and Gerry came first to see the property and give a quote and was brilliant. Arranged the installation date and Lee arrived on time, explained what he would be doing, rough time to install and final steps. He done a great job, cleaned up the mess from the drill and lastly showed me how to work the app. I would recommend Electropoint and they deserve 5 star rating.

Installation process was super simple and professional

I would like to give 6star if I can. I put my request through the website, 5 min later got the call from Jordan, next day he came to check out the work and offered the job to be done a week later. Installation process super simple and professional and reasonable priced. Dont waste time and money with big supplier, I waited 4 weeks on Octopus not so much as an email received Keep up the good work!
