What I really like are their boiler packs. These bundles include the parts you need to set the boiler up properly, which saves time and hassle for anyone who doesn’t want to chase down extras.
They also offer free next-day delivery on orders over £200. Trade accounts are available too, giving better prices and easier ordering for local installers.
Unfortunately, the number of brands they carry is limited when compared to bigger store chains. I also find their online store slow to update, so you often need to phone ahead to know if new products have arrived.

Since I’ve been looking for new heating equipment with efficiency in mind, HPD Suppliers quickly stood out. They stock the usual boilers, radiators, and hot water cylinders, but what impressed me most is that they also carry greener options such as air-to-water heat pumps and solar-powered heaters.
Their products usually come with solid warranties that run between 5 and 10 years, which gives a bit of reassurance. I also like that they run regular sales and discounts, especially because I’m looking to save as much money as I can.
Another good thing is that they offer financing through Afterpay and Klarna to make bigger purchases easier to manage.
The downsides are worth noting, though. Delivery can take up to 5 days, and their showroom isn’t the easiest to reach if you live in the east.

City Plumbing is one of my top picks because it’s one of the easiest stores to visit in Glasgow. They have 5 locations across the city that sell boilers, radiators, hot water cylinders, smart controls, and heat pumps.
You don’t even need to step into a shop since they have a mobile app where you can order products quickly. They also offer free delivery on orders over £75, making things more convenient if you’re buying in bulk.
Their loyalty program is another reason I’m considering them for heating equipment. Every purchase earns points that can be exchanged for rewards such as gift vouchers, holiday tickets, or even appliances.
However, some branches don’t always keep everything in stock, which can be frustrating. Their weekend availability is also quite limited.

Another store I find easy to visit is Screwfix. They have three locations across Glasgow with a good range of heating products. I like that they also have a mobile app where you can quickly order what you need without leaving the house.
What makes them even more convenient are their delivery and click-and-collect options. With click-and-collect, your order can be ready in just a minute, which is impressive and saves a lot of time.
They also offer next-day delivery, and it’s free if your order is over £50. If you’re in a real hurry, their Sprint Delivery can get items to your door in under 20 minutes.
Sadly, Sprint isn’t available everywhere in Glasgow. You need to check if your neighbourhood is covered before relying on it.
