What I like most is how flexible they are, with over 40 different kit house designs to choose from. They even provide Fast Track Service, which includes prioritised factory production and built-in insulation for faster on-site assembly.
I also like that they’ve teamed up with Ecology Building Society for mortgage options. If you go for one of their eco-friendly designs, you could get lower interest rates, which is a solid bonus when budgeting.
However, since their focus is on prefab homes, they’re not a good fit if you have a unique design in mind. And since certain processes, like interior designing, are handled by their subcontractors, quality can vary depending on who’s involved.

One thing I really appreciate is their 12-month guarantee. It gives you peace of mind, knowing if something goes pear-shaped, they’ll come back and fix it without a fuss.
It’s also nice that they offer no-obligation quotes, so you can gauge the costs before diving in.
That said, I find it worrying that their final price sometimes differs from their initial quote. Their services are also in high demand, so getting a slot might take a bit of patience.

If you’re wondering which company handled my conservatory project, it was ATS General Builders. I took the chance on them, since they have almost a decade of experience and have done a fair share of residential and commercial work across Glasgow.
The main reason I went with them? Their conservatories come with a solid 10-year guarantee. That, plus a decent discount when I let them take care of the planning and architectural stuff.
They even offered a free survey of the house, which was handy. It helped make sure the conservatory would actually work with the space and not end up looking out of place.
Unfortunately, they’re not perfect. A couple of times, they missed my messages, so I had to chase them a bit. And I’ve heard from a few others that they’ve not always turned up when expected, which isn’t great.

It’s also a nice bonus that they handle structural alterations. That stuff can get tricky, especially with all the engineering and approvals involved when it comes to installing new support beams or opening up floor plans.
Another good thing about them being a multi-trade company is their landscaping service. If you’ve just finished building or renovating, you don’t need to go hunting for someone else to sort your garden—they’ve got it covered.
However, they’ve occasionally missed scheduled appointments, which appears to be due to the high volume of work they take on.
