I happened to decide while shopping in Glasgow, to try my luck and get an appt in Bloom, Princess Square. I was extremely fortunate as it was busy. I heard about Hair in the City from several different friends. It has a private room that caters to utmost client privacy, offering a respite from real salon anxiety brought about by several issues and lifestyle choices.
It’s built for clients who need privacy for hijabs, hair loss, post-chemo regrowth, sensory needs, or a non-judgmental, gender-neutral LGBTQ safe space. Most services can be done there, and you only need to mention it when booking.
When I visited, I instantly felt the calm, fully enclosed one-stylist-one-client vibe. I didn’t feel watched while getting my hair done, so I reckon it’s the same for those who feel extra vulnerable on a stylist’s chair.
