The Best Psychotherapists in Glasgow to Add to Your Go-To Support System
Taking the first step to finding a good psychotherapist in Glasgow was the hardest part for me, especially when anxiety and burnout couldn’t wait for NHS timelines (which were anywhere between 6 and 12 months!).
NHS Scotland does vital work, but private therapy, like personal trainers, offers tailored, speedy sessions. I know I certainly felt like time was of the essence when I was in the middle of a personal crisis.
I shortlisted these centres because they rigorously vet their therapists, so I could focus on getting help and not questioning credentials. I hope they can help you as much as they’ve helped me and people I love.
How much does a psychotherapist in Glasgow charge?
Most individual counselling sessions in Glasgow cost £50 to £85, while clinical psychologists typically charge over £100. Couples therapy usually ranges from £70 to £120 per session, depending on experience and specialisation.
Free counselling is available via the NHS (ask your GP about Primary Mental Health Care terms) or charities like Lifelink and the Tom Allan Centre, though waiting lists apply.
1. Natalia Fair Counselling Glasgow

Address: Central Chambers, 93 Hope Street
Contact: +447792272095
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
I reached out to Natalia Fair Counselling when I simply couldn’t wait any longer for public support, and I needed someone now who would take my distress seriously.
She isn’t a large group practice but a trusted individual counsellor and psychotherapist who tailors each session to each person. I felt confident in Natalia’s approach, thanks to her over 15 years of experience and solid foundation in psychology and global mental health.
She covers a broad range of issues that matter to me, such as stress and anxiety management (great for students and professionals), relationship work, and deeper life changes like trauma and grief.
Natalia isn’t specifically branded as a CBT/EMDR specialist, but her integrative style comes from psychology training and real-world clinical experience. I found her warm and non-judgmental in every session.
She offers clear fees for individual and couples work (around £54 to £78) and is decidedly more budget-friendly compared to many private therapists in the city. I also appreciated the free 15-minute phone consultation, which helped me feel out the fit before committing.
Located on Hope Street in the City Centre, the discreet room felt calm and private, which helped me relax from the first session.
That said, it’s a solo practice, so if you need rapid access to a specific modality like EMDR, you may have to ask for a referral elsewhere.

Can’t thank Natalia enough for the guidance, support and chats
Initially began seeing Natalia for one specific reason I had in mind. After the first session, I had already felt lighter and clearer in my head. Can’t thank Natalia enough for the guidance, support and chats throughout my sessions. Would recommend her to anyone who feels they need a helping hand with their mental health. She’s approachable, straight to the point and has a great way of unravelling and easing heavy burdens that are going on mentally. Thanks again.

I have seen a massive improvement in my general happiness
Natalia is incredible at working through anything in life that comes our way. I have been to many therapists over the years, and she is the best I have ever worked with. Incredibly honest and open, helpful in opening up new areas of discussions (even if unaware in your own mind) and then giving actions to work on every day. Through our sessions, I have seen a massive improvement in my general happiness, outlook on life, career enthusiasm, general mood and feeling of fulfilment. Could not recommend her more!

2. MAPP Psychology Glasgow

Address: 7 Buchanan Street
Contact: +442046005600
Business hours:
Monday, 8.45 AM–9 PM
Tuesday, 12.30 AM–9 PM
Wednesday, 8.30 AM–9 PM
Thursday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
My baby sister turned to MAPP Psychology when imposter syndrome started undermining her confidence at work. We learned that MAPP is ideal for professionals and students dealing with anxiety, burnout, self-esteem issues, and performance pressure.
It’s a psychologist-led practice, not general counselling, which reassured my sis that the work would be structured and evidence-based. The clinicians are HCP-registered clinical psychologists, which matters if you want model-driven therapy like CBT.
It was easy enough for her to get an appointment quickly and choose a psychologist who fits her needs, given that it’s a larger group practice. The city centre location is convenient, and the clinic environment feels modern, professional, and neutral.
She found the sessions practical, focused, and especially helpful for unpacking imposter syndrome in a workplace context. My sister appreciated the non-judgmental tone combined with clear frameworks, making her progress feel measurable, not vague.
The downside? Fees are at the higher end of private therapy in Glasgow, reflecting psychologist-level care. And if you’re looking specifically for couples counselling or a softer, long-term psychodynamic style, this setup may feel more clinical than you want.

I could take my time and just chat in an open and friendly way
Had an ASD test done, and the whole process was exceptional. Fraser was very warm, welcoming and easy to talk to. More than happy to explain anything. At no point did I feel like I was under pressure or being tested. I could take my time and just chat in an open and friendly way. The resulting report was extremely detailed and clearly showed a lot of thought in tailoring insights and recommendations to my individual needs. This will be a tool that I can use for the rest of my life to help improve my everyday experiences and reduce my anxiety.

My experience at Mapp Psychology with Amirah was truly positive. While every therapy journey has its natural flow, she was always warm, approachable and genuinely supportive. Amirah’s kindness and steady support encouraged me to open up more than I thought possible. I’m truly grateful for the care and understanding she showed- it made a real difference, not only in the moment but also for my future. Thank you, Mapp Psychology!

3. Psyche Therapy Centre / Psyche Remote Ltd

Address: 307 W George Street
Contact: [email protected]
Business hours: By appointment
I discovered Psyche Therapy Centre when corporate burnout left me running on empty. Public support wasn’t an option due to time constraints, and I wanted proper psychological care, not productivity coaching disguised as therapy.
The clinic was referred to me by a colleague, who described it as ideal for professionals dealing with burnout, anxiety, and long-term emotional stress. Rather than crisis-only care, it’s more depth-focused than a fast-turnaround CBT clinic.
The therapists are primarily BACP-registered and UKCP-aligned, which gave me confidence in their training and ethical standards. It’s also a group practice, which helped me get matched fairly quickly to a good therapist.
The work leans psychodynamic and relational, helping me unpack why burnout keeps repeating rather than just managing my symptoms. The West End location felt calm and discreet, too, with quiet rooms that made it easier to slow down and open up.
However, fees sit in the mid to higher private range, which may not suit every budget. Moreover, the approach here may feel slower and more exploratory compared to a highly structured program.

It has been a massive help to me
I attended Psyche Retreats in Greece. What an experience. From the villa to the food to the therapists was amazing. I don’t notice the girl who first went to Greece in the girl I am now. Thanks to the follow-up work, it has been a massive help to me. The treatment didn’t just finish at the retreat. We went on amazing excursions, made some amazing people while I was out there and can not wait to go back. I loved every minute of it.

From the start, she provided me with a safe and loving environment, which helped me open up and achieve the full benefit of the session. 4. Serenity By Kevin

Address: Suite 238, Baltic Chambers, 50 Wellington Street
Contact: +447393675083
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 11 AM–9 PM
A few years ago, my partner and I hit a rough patch in our relationship. We realised we needed help stat, and not postpone something that could make or break our bond.
Serenity By Kevin came up at exactly the right moment, and it’s a great fit for couples navigating conflict, communication breakdowns, and emotional distance. The clinic’s calm, private setting immediately made our tough conversations feel less intimidating.
Kevin works as a solo practitioner, which means continuity and familiarity for my partner. There was no repetition of our story to different therapists (which could honestly get tiring).
He’s also a COSCA-accredited counsellor, and that grounding showed in how steady and fair the sessions felt. The focus stayed on relationship patterns and shared responsibility, not blame, which helped us hear each other properly for the first time in a while.
What stayed with me was how human the process felt. It was structured enough to feel safe, but not overly clinical. We walked out clearer, calmer, and more willing to keep talking, rather than feeling “fixed.”
Do note that, as an independent practitioner, availability can be limited compared to larger centres. It may also feel more focused than flexible, as it’s not a multi-therapist clinic with rapid reassignment.

I’ve felt better after each session
I just finished my last session with Heather and feel so much better for having done this. I always felt like I didn’t need help and could bring myself out of a rutt or a bad mindset, but when I hit my mental wall, I tried Serenity by Kevin and wish I tried this sooner. I’ve felt better after each session, and leaving yesterday felt like I had met a higher target I hadn’t even set going into it. Heather was very professional, kind and pushy in the right ways to get me to feel like myself again, and I’m very grateful for the experience and will keep following her steps and methods to continue to motivate and push myself to be the best version of myself for me and those around me.

Nicola was very friendly and a delight to work with
I visited Nicola at Serenity By Kevin in Ayr a few months back, initially for the tension I was holding in my body, which I thought was causing some more serious health conditions. Nicola was very friendly and a delight to work with. I found our chats extremely interesting. For me, it took me a few weeks before I started seeing any real benefits, but after the initial few weeks, things really started to change. I had 6 sessions all in, and a few months on, I am still more relaxed and have a better awareness of my inner world, I have more energy and the knot in my stomach is gone. It was worth every penny, and if you’re struggling with negative emotions or just feel like you have no zest for life, and procrastination has become the norm, then this is the place to go. Nicola was great and helped me get back on my feet. I literally couldn’t thank her enough. So thanks again, Nicola!

5. Psychotherapy, Analysis and Personal Development, Glasgow

Address: 1835 Cumbernauld Rd, Millerston
Contact: [email protected]
Business hours: Monday to Friday, noon–8 PM
My best friend found Psychotherapy, Analysis and Personal Development Glasgow when grief after a loss felt too heavy to carry alone. It wasn’t about quick reassurance, but having a serious, contained space to sit with what couldn’t be rushed.
This centre is best suited for adults seeking depth work, particularly for grief work, loss, and long-standing emotional patterns. It’s a specialised psychoanalytic practice rather than a large clinic, so the focus is depth over speed.
My pal was struck by how seriously his process was taken. There were no platitudes and no pressure to “move on,” unlike other centres. For my friend, that steadiness made his grief feel held rather than fixed.
The therapists are UKCP-aligned psychoanalytic psychotherapists, which matters when trust and proper training are non-negotiables. The sessions took place in quiet, traditional consulting rooms, which helped keep the attention on the work rather than the setting.
That said, this isn’t a quick-access service, and availability can be limited. If you’re looking for short-term CBT, structured techniques, or immediate symptom relief, the psychoanalytic approach here may feel slow and demanding.

He is non-judgmental, direct, and very collaborative
Stephen is an excellent therapist and, while my therapy for now has run its course, when I return to therapy, it will be to his practice. I highly recommend working with him if you are keen to make real and substantial changes in your life. He is non-judgmental, direct, and very collaborative in his practice. He’s helped me to feel more balanced and secure, more in tune with my real self, and my life has changed significantly for the better during my time working with him.
