The 5 Best Pilates Studios in Glasgow to Find Your Fitness Community

  • Equipment and facilities quality - Are there proper equipment (for Reformer Pilates, ideally Balanced Body), and facilities that are well maintained, and not crammed too tightly together?
  • Instructor qualifications - Are there certified Pilates instructors, with physio-led and clinical Pilates options clearly for rehab clients?
  • Class vibe and intent - Is there a clear distinction between sweaty/dynamic sessions and slower, cleaner, and rehab-focused classes?
  • Booking reality - How hard is it to get a slot, are there waitlists during peak hours, and do memberships actually guarantee access?

I’ve seen how Glasgow’s fitness scene has moved from brute strength, with Pilates now being the smart way to build real core stability. After years with great personal trainers, this is where I turned to train hard while protecting an injury.

Mat Pilates is slower and more accessible, while Reformer uses spring-loaded machines for a stronger, sweatier workout.

This review will help you find the best Pilates studios in Glasgow for either (or both, if you have the stamina!) to get you started on your fitness journey.

How much do Pilates studios in Glasgow charge?

Most Pilates studios in Glasgow charge £8 to £12 per class for Mat Pilates, depending on the studio and class size.
Reformer Pilates classes are more expensive due to the equipment involved. Expect to pay £18 to £25 per drop-in, with membership or class packages bringing it down to around £15 per class.

For the longest time, I’ve been hunting down the perfect Pilates studio with actual breathing room. I wanted small numbers, real attention, and no conveyor-belt vibes, and SOUL Pilates nailed it!

SOUL is a Reformer-first boutique studio, not a clinical physio room, but it still feels precise and safe. Classes stay small with an average of four people per session, which makes me feel seen instead of shouted at.

It’s ideal for Reformer-led strength, controlled rehab support, and even pre-/post-natal clients needing hands-on guidance.

Its location on Frederick Street is convenient for commuting, an easy win for locals like me who want quality fitness without trekking across town.

I found the sessions challenging but controlled. It’s more quiet gains than chaotic sweat, with the Reformers and Cadillac equipment delivering a slow burn that builds my strength without wrecking my joints.

That said, the spaces are limited by design, so peak slots book up fast and require planning. Its premium pricing, which makes sense for the setup, is not the cheapest Pilates fix in Glasgow.

Pros

  • Small Reformer class sizes
  • High-quality equipment
  • Boutique, stylish studio vibe
  • Strong fit for rehab-minded and pre-/post-natal clients

Cons

  • Limited class sizes = peak time slots book out fast
  • Premium pricing not ideal for Mat-focused clients

Customer Reviews

Love that each class only has four spaces

I’ve attended three beginner classes at Soul Pilates Studio, and I’ve really enjoyed the experience. The studio is beautiful, very aesthetic, clean, and comfortable. I also love that each class only has four spaces, allowing the instructor to give personal attention and guidance to everyone. Overall, my experience has been perfect, and I’m looking forward to continuing my Pilates journey here!

You can really feel how much they care about each client

I visited this Pilates studio and was truly impressed! Everything was on the highest level, from the atmosphere to the professionalism of the instructors. You can really feel how much they care about each client. I left absolutely delighted and can’t wait to come back!

My sister was looking to rebuild strength and regain her figure after having her baby. She wanted “nothing shouty and nothing macho,” and Mind in Body Pilates turned out to be exactly the reset she needed.

It’s become known in her mummy circles for post-natal recovery, pre-natal strength, and rehab-friendly Pilates with proper guidance from its instructor, Martha. It’s based in the Southside, making it a natural pick for local mums who want something close and consistent.

Mind in Body is a hybrid studio offering both Mat and Reformer, which means I can join my sister for sessions when we feel like it. The classes are relatively small (averaging 6 per class), so the instructor notices the poses rather than just counting reps.

The Mat-based classes and the Mums & Bubs sessions stand out for my sister, especially for easing her back into movement without pressure. The Reformers are solid and well-maintained, too; the sessions are more focused on slow, controlled rebuilding.

However, the clinical, rehab-first vibe may feel too gentle for those chasing a high-sweat Reformer burn. Also, peak daytime slots, especially for post-natal classes, tend to fill quickly.

Pros

  • Excellent pre- and post-natal focus
  • Small Reformer class sizes
  • Calm, rehab-friendly environment
  • Convenient Southside location

Cons

  • Less suited for those wanting high-intensity workouts
  • Post-natal classes can book out fast

Had a significant positive effect on my recovery

Martha is a brilliant teacher. You get so much clear direction and explanation; every session is hugely valuable. She’s had a significant positive effect on my recovery from a major op, and her classes have left me feeling stronger, better connected to and more confident in my body. And her studio is lovely too. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks, Martha!

I look forward to every class

I have been attending Reformer Pilates for over a year and a half, and I love it! I look forward to every class, and I have learnt so much during my sessions. Martha is an amazing teacher who is patient, kind, highly knowledgeable and also fun! She really wants you to learn how to do the exercises properly so you know what areas of the body you are working. Thanks, Martha!

I admit there are times when I want a Pilates experience that doesn’t feel intimidating, somewhere genuinely welcoming to all levels and doesn’t discriminate. Thankfully, Reset Yoga & Reformer delivers that neighbourly Glasgow warmth.

It feels less like an exclusive club and more like a come-as-you-are community studio. It’s centrally located, too, making it easy for workday classes or post-commute sessions.

Reset is a hybrid studio offering Reformer, Mat, and yoga, with a relaxed vibe rather than a glossy boutique or clinical setup. My pals and I found it ideal for all-levels Reformer and Mat Pilates, gentle strength-building, and consistency over ego.

We checked out the Reformers, which were well-kept, and the workouts were more controlled rather than punishing. It’s ideal for some of us who were easing in and building confidence.

As for the Mat and yoga classes, they’re great to round things out nicely, making Reset a solid one-stop studio for varied movement.

The downside? Those chasing ultra-boutique aesthetics or high-intensity Reformer burns might be let down here. Popular evening classes also tend to fill up fast, so book ahead.

Pros

  • Welcoming, all-levels atmosphere
  • Hybrid offering for varied training needs
  • Convenient city centre location

Cons

  • Peak evening slots can book out fast
  • Less suited for sweat-heavy Reformer sessions

The space is so warm and inviting

Reset Yoga and Reformer Pilates is the best studio in Glasgow! Having recently returned to Glasgow from a 12-year stint in Australia, I spent time trying out all the studios in my area, stumbling across Reset after a few weeks. The space is so warm and inviting, with lots of amazing little touches, giving it that ‘wow’ factor. The class schedule means that there are classes to suit all abilities, and the addition of an intermediate option means that I can really feel challenged. Rach, Nola and the team have made me feel so welcome, and the instructors are the best!

Offers classes to cater for all levels

Reset is truly the most incredible studio. The community, the classes, the teachers, the space – every single detail is just really special. It offers classes to cater for all levels, and it feels like a home away from home. I’ve been going to Reset for 4 years now, and it still feels just as magical now as it did back when I started. From spicy pre-work Pilates to cosy yin at night, there’s something for everyone. Thank you, team Reset, for building the community you have.

I first walked into Yellow Pilates because its free first class felt like a no-brainer, but I ended up staying for the quality of its one-on-one sessions. It’s the kind of place that wins you over quietly without shouting about it.

It runs as a hybrid studio with Mat and Reformer classes, leaning more practical than flashy. The Reformer classes are kept comfortably small (average of 6 per class) by instructor Michelle, while private sessions are where the studio really shines.

The Reformers are solid, with no hint of wobbliness. The sessions are focused on alignment and steady strength rather than max burn. Meanwhile, the Mat classes are accessible, with the overall class vibe feeling supportive rather than performative.

I would recommend this studio for beginners testing the waters, clients wanting private 1-to-1 Pilates classes, and controlled Reformer work.

Do note that the studio is more low-key than luxe, so don’t expect Instagram-polished interiors. Slots for private sessions are pretty popular and can get snatched up quickly, too.

Pros

  • Free first Pilates class
  • Excellent private 1-to-1 sessions
  • Small Reformer class sizes

Cons

  • More practical than boutique in look and feel
  • Private sessions can be hard to book

Customer Reviews

Her classes are fun and super welcoming

Best Pilates in town. Michelle is incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, always offering advice and adaptations to everyone in class. And more importantly, her classes are fun and super welcoming. She switches up routines, always thinks of new challenges, and makes everyone feel comfortable. One of the only exercise classes I have stuck with for years. And I can feel the impact on my strength, body awareness, and flexibility. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

I found that my core strength had improved

I’ve been attending Michelle’s classes at Yellow Pilates for nearly a year. I started attending due to lower back problems, which prevented me from being able to run as regularly as I used to. Michelle is an excellent teacher, attentive to ensure that we do things correctly, but also offers alternatives if required. As a complete beginner, I certainly needed the guidance! After a few months of attending, I found that my core strength had improved and my back issues reduced significantly. The classes are always fun to attend, and her friendly approach makes you feel very welcome in the class. I would highly recommend her classes!

I was sold on Calm & Core because I wanted to try a choose-your-own programme setup, and not another timetable dictating my spine’s fate. Discovering that it’s Scotland’s first self-serve and instructor-led Reformer Pilates studio piqued my interest.

Calm & Core is a Reformer-only boutique studio. It’s best for performing Reformer Pilates at your own pace, gaining rehab-friendly strength, and for people who hate crowded classes.

Instead of packed classes, you can get access to over 700 virtual sessions alongside expert-led in-studio guidance. I like this kind of focused training setup that lets me attend classes according to my mood, schedule, and if I feel like stepping out or not.

This makes the intensity tailor-made for me, from slow rebuilds to serious burns. The studio’s ethos is genuinely inclusive, with any age and ability welcome, so the results feel earned, not rushed.

That said, the self-serve format may feel too independent for those wanting constant hands-on correction. So if you thrive on buzzy group energy, the quiet, solo-focused setup might feel a tad too…lonely.

Pros

  • Scotland’s first self-serve and instructor-led Reformer Pilates studio
  • Access to over 700 virtual Reformer classes
  • Quiet, uncrowded setup
  • Inclusive, empowering ethos

Cons

  • Self-serve format may not suit those wanting live correction
  • Less social or group-class energy

Customer Reviews

I have really enjoyed getting back into reformer Pilates

I was so excited to attend Calm and Core when I stumbled across their Instagram page. The studio is lovely, and Lesley is very welcoming. She explained everything we needed to know on the first visit and was on hand for any issues or questions we had. I have really enjoyed getting back into reformer Pilates, and the one demand option is great!

I love that you can choose your own workout

Reformer Pilates at Calm & Core is amazing. I love that you can choose your own workout and zone out on your own. There are hundreds of programmes to choose from, so if you want to work on strength, stretching or athletic performance, it’s all there. I also like to end with a 10-minute meditation. The environment is calm and relaxing, and Lesley and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I haven’t tried the instructor-led class yet, but that would be a good option for those needing more guidance. Definitely give it a go!
