5 Best Renovation Contractors in Glasgow Transforming Local Buildings
I’ve worked with some of the best builders in town enough to know that the real challenge in a polished final look isn’t choosing finishes; it’s finding a contractor who won’t disappear mid-job!
With sandstone quirks, creaky joists, and pervading damp, you’ll need a builder with local experience. It’s easy enough to dodge cowboy builders if you know the legit signs, including written contracts, sensible payment schedules, and recognised accreditations like the FMB.
If you want a good renovation contractor in Glasgow, know that the best ones have clear quotes, firm timelines, and straight communication, not bargain-basement pricing. I met some of them, and I’d like to share their info with you.
How much does a renovation contractor charge in Glasgow?
In Glasgow, a finished single-storey rear extension typically costs £1,800 to £2,500 per sq m, and higher if access is tight, ground conditions are tricky, or you’re going heavy on high-spec glazing.
A full refurb of a standard 3-bedroom semi is usually £50,000 to over £80,000.
For conversions, a Velux loft often starts at around £25,000, while a dormer conversion can exceed £45,000.
For tenements, rewiring and replastering a 2-bedroom flat commonly costs around £15,000 to £25,000, depending on how extensive the works are.
1. We Love Your Projects – Glasgow Home Renovations, Kitchen Fitters & Bathrooms Installations

Address: 1 Ainslie Rd, Hillington

Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 8 AM–4.45 PM

My neighbour’s idea of the perfect renovation contractor in Glasgow is simple: don’t make them chase, don’t make it awkward, and please start with a free quote.
We Love Your Project nails that vibe with an online form that sends info to your inbox, then follows up to kick off a free kitchen quote/design appointment without the usual back-and-forth. They have one team to design, supply, fit, and project-manage the whole thing.
According to my neighbour, they shine in kitchen-led renovations and extensions. They’re an all-trades outfit covering refurbishments, plus kitchens, bathrooms, and conversions, and they work closely with architects, so he didn’t have to juggle separate contracts on design and planning.
Their credibility marks are solid. They’re listed on Renfrewshire Trusted Trader with a high overall rating, and have been a member since 2022. That’s the kind of paper-trail comfort my neighbour wants before he lets anyone near his wall or kitchen budget.
He was primarily convinced to give this company a go when a past client told him about how they engaged an architect for their Building Warrant, liaised with the local authority and structural engineer, and even used VR software to visualise their finished kitchen space!
That said, if you specifically need an attic/loft conversion specialist, it’s wise to double-check their recent project mix and see who’s doing the structural package first before committing.

Working with We Love Your Projects made a big upheaval much easier!
Had a fantastic experience with the team fitting a new kitchen and flooring throughout my flat. From the initial visit, I found the team very professional and helpful. I felt I got a transparent price, and the service was great. It was important to me, as a female, to feel respected but also supported throughout the process, which definitely happened. The team working in the flat were tidy and looked after the space. They were also flexible and able to manage problems with supply and change small things at the last minute at my request. Antonia and Jamie were on hand by email throughout the process. They were very responsive when I had questions and provided regular updates on the work. Would absolutely recommend the team to anyone looking to get work done in the near future. Working with We Love Your Projects made a big upheaval much easier!

I do not use any other company
I have used this company for a couple of years now. I have had joinery, plumbing, boiler replacement and most recently, electrical work done. From the first phone call to the booking of the service has been seamless. Every work person who has come into my house has been professional, on time, and leaves my house clean and tidy. I do not use any other company. There are email updates and emails after the work has been completed to check everything. I will continue to use this company as I am confident in every work person who has come out to complete the job. Thank you all.

2. Construction For All Trades Ltd

Address: 11 Forrest Street
Contact: +447472652681
Hours: Daily, 7 AM–8 PM
Construction For All Trades helped our office transform from a tired workspace into a space where we actually want to be productive. Now, it has a smarter layout, proper lighting, and an elegant finish!
We weren’t stuck in quote-chasing purgatory, either. They offered free surveys and video quotes to us, and gave fast responses. If you’re an office manager, landlord, or homeowner who wants one team to coordinate all the trades, they’re worth a quote request.
They feel best for office refreshes like ours, tenements/flat refurbs, and kitchen-heavy renovations. They’re multi-trade, too; they do joinery, plastering, tiling, electrics/lighting, plumbing, flooring, and decorating.
Our bosses liked that they’re an active limited company that was incorporated in May 2022 on Companies House. It gave them a proper paper trail before they signed off on anything.
However, I would still do the grown-up Glasgow checks by asking how they handle Building Warrant triggers and any planning touchpoints with the Glasgow City Council. And for tenement jobs, I’d make sure they price in the communal-repairs reality.

Really impressed with the whole team at Construction For All Trades Ltd. They redid my kitchen and did some general maintenance around the house — all to a brilliant standard. Great communication throughout, no mess, no fuss, and fair prices too. It’s nice to find a company that actually takes pride in its work. Thanks again!

3. Impact Glasgow

Address: Craigton Industrial Estate, Barfillan House, 121 Barfillan Dr
Contact: +441414061353
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
Mum suddenly declared that she wanted a fully bespoke bathroom, and it felt like a job that goes beyond picking a suite from a catalogue. Good thing Impact Glasgow came back to her fast to set up a discovery call and site survey!
They talked her through lighting, heating, finishes, and even safety grab bars for her shower area to give us, her kids, peace of mind. They’re a solid pick if you want your bathroom project to quietly include plumbing and heating upgrades.
They’re a Southside, all-trades outfit covering renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, maintenance, and even loft/garage conversions! But I do think they shine best in bathroom renos and full refurb work.
To appease Mum on her choice of contractor, we showed her the company’s multiple Scotland Prestige Awards’ “Building Contractor of the Year” wins. That sent her beaming like the Cheshire Cat!
They pitched us a proper one-step approach, with project managers and all the core trades under one roof for a smoother build. The catch is, they don’t design bathrooms in-house, so we had to bring our own designer (the other option was to let them work with one while they handled the install with a 12-month guarantee).
It’s also worth noting that, if you’re in a tenement, you’ll need to get them to spell out how they’ll handle deed conditions, neighbour coordination, and access before you accept a “simple” quote.

They provided great communication
Martyn and his team were fantastic!! Impact project managed with the initial water ingress. They provided great communication, all trades, kept us fully up to date with all renovations of the kitchen installation and adjacent rooms affected. Jason and Alex were especially helpful, friendly and lovely to have around. Highly recommend.

4. NJ Home Solutions | Handyman Glasgow – Property Maintenance – Plasterer – Painter and Decorator

Address: 8 Carna Dr
Contact: +447825625056
Hours: Daily, 8 AM–6 PM
My bestie doesn’t really need a full renovation, but he needs to keep his flat to stop looking like it’s shedding its own skin. He found NJ Home Solutions ideal for keeping it both tidy and rental-ready, with plastering touch-ups, clean paint lines, and finishing that won’t be labelled “The Landlord Special.”
The company was recommended to him by another landlord, who described them as ideal for tenement/flat maintenance and small refurb jobs. They’re a local, multi-trade property maintenance outfit that also covers joinery, electrics, plumbing, and even bathroom/kitchen refresh!
My pal liked their “no job is too small” attitude. Aside from landlords, he reckons they’re suited for busy homeowners and anyone who wants someone to handle odd jobs with finishing within one team.
He does caution that, if your plastering project turns into moving walls, you’ll need to be back in Building Warranty territory with the Glasgow City Council and likely a structural engineer. That’s a different lane and a different level of paperwork.
And because they’re ideal for smaller refresh work, you’ll need to be extra clear in writing on scope and finish standards so a quick refresh doesn’t quietly balloon out of proportion.

They did a thoroughly professional job
NJ Home Solutions did a great job. The quality of their work is excellent. They repaired water-damaged plaster and skirting board trims before painting the ceilings, walls and skirting boards. On arrival, they removed furniture and curtains before covering all surfaces and floors. They arrived on time and worked with very few breaks. They cleaned everything before leaving and put back the furniture and curtains. Nicholas, the boss, has an eye for detail. He found a couple of snags and fixed them before asking for final payment. They did a thoroughly professional job, and I will use them again for my kitchen.

5. Nest

Address: 1 Bothwell Ln
Contact: +441415868324
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
My sister insisted on a full-scope renovation contractor with interior design, which I initially thought was impossible. She said she didn’t want a juggling act between separate designers and builders, especially since she had just given birth.
Nest suits her demands well. They handle design-and-build from early concepts through to finishes, so the whole job stays coordinated and easier to manage.
They’re best for full-home refurbishments and higher-end extensions, rather than small maintenance jobs. They also offer build-only if you already have drawings, which is handy if your designer is already locked in.
My sister appreciated their process-led approach to approvals, including planning and warrant drawings, plus support with permissions before any structural work started. It’s exactly the sort of admin discipline she wanted when compliance mattered.
For a turnkey renovation with a cohesive look, she highly recommends Nest. That said, for tenement renovations, you’ll need to confirm deed conditions, neighbour coordination, and structural engineering inputs in writing so nothing critical gets assumed.

The team were an absolute pleasure to deal with
We worked with NEST on the renovation of our home this year and could not be more delighted with the results. The team were an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout, professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to excellence. The quality of the work is exceptional; every detail has been finished to the highest standard, and the result has transformed our home. While it was a significant investment, it was worth every penny; the craftsmanship and care speak for themselves. We would wholeheartedly recommend NEST to anyone looking for a renovation team that combines skill, style, and integrity.
