The Best Pizzas in Glasgow We Can’t Just Have One Slice Of!

Pizza might just be one of mankind’s greatest inventions. Forget the wheel or electricity for a second because nothing brings joy quite like a perfectly baked base covered in gooey cheese and toppings that suit every mood!

It’s simple, versatile, and always satisfying, which is why it has become my go-to dish whenever I want to bond with friends or family. And I’ll admit, I sometimes order a couple of slices on my own when I miss it because pizza has that kind of pull.

With all that in mind, I’m here to share some of my favourite pizza spots in Glasgow so you can enjoy the best versions of this wonder yourself.

Paesano Pizza

Address: 94 Miller St

Contact details: +44 141 258 5565

Operating hours:

11:00 AM – 10:30 PM (SUN-FRI)

11:00 AM – 11:00 PM (SAT)

Let’s start with Paesano Pizza, a place I’ve been visiting often these past few months. They have two locations in Glasgow, one on Miller Street and another on Great Western Road, so they’re easy to check out.

What I love about them is their focus on authentic Neapolitan pizza. Every pizza is baked in wood-fired ovens and made with dough that has been proofed for a full day, which makes a moist and easily digestible crust.

Out of all their 11 flavours, the Tuscan fennel sausage pizza is my favourite. The sausage is rich and slightly sweet, the sugo adds a tangy kick, and the mozzarella melts into a creamy layer that ties it all together nicely.

Pro tip: Paesano Pizza will happily make any of their pizzas vegan-friendly if you ask. The sourdough base is already vegan, so it’s just a matter of skipping the cheese or adding extra vegetables.

Leopardo Pizza

Address: 85 W Nile St

Contact details: +44 141 611 0414

Operating hours: 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM (MON-SUN)

Whenever I meet up with my friends, we usually stop at Leopardo Pizza before heading home. Their West Nile Street location is our favourite, though they also have a shop at Glasgow Fort.

They specialise in Neapolitan-style pizza and use long-fermented sourdough to capture that authentic flavour. They also rely on San Marzano tomatoes to give their pizzas a thicker and richer taste that feels great with every bite.

But what I really like is how their menu blends classics with creative twists. Our top choice is the Pollo Granturco, which comes with spiced chicken, sweetcorn, mozzarella, and a rich tomato base, all finished with a drizzle of barbecue sauce.

Pro tip: If you fancy Leopardo Pizza, their Click and Collect service is a handy way to skip the wait. Order ahead, swing by, and your pizza is ready to take home while it’s still hot!

If you’d rather stay in, they also deliver through Uber Eats, so you can enjoy their Neapolitan pizzas without leaving your sofa.

Pizza Punks

Address: 90 St Vincent St

Contact details: +44 141 237 8020

Operating hours:

12:00 PM – 10:00 PM (SUN-THURS)

12:00 PM – 11:00 PM (FRI and SAT)

If you find traditional Neapolitan pizza to be a tad boring, Pizza Punks is a spot worth checking out. Opened in 2016, it brings a rebellious twist to pizza and serves it in a lively industrial setting with neon lights and a buzzing atmosphere.

What keeps me coming back is the freedom of choice. You can create your own pizza and pick from a wide range of toppings and creative bases that make things fun. It’s perfect if you and your friends enjoy experimenting.

On days when I’m too tired to come up with my own recipe, I usually go for the Cacio e Pepe Carbonara pizza. Instead of a tomato base, it has a creamy cacio e pepe topped with baked egg, pancetta, and mozzarella.

Pro tip: Pizza Punks’ special deals are worth planning around. Cheapdate Mondays give you two pizzas and two drinks for £32.50, making it a fun and easy way to wrap up a date (especially after exploring our top date ideas in Glasgow).

On Thursdays, you can get a side, a pizza, and a drink for only £25. However, the real highlight is their Payday Friday offer, where £37 gets you any pizza and five drinks between noon and 10 PM on the last Friday of the month.

Romans Pizzeria

Website: https://romanspizzeria.co.uk/

Address: 44 Howard St

Contact details: +44 141 243 2640

Operating hours:

12:00 PM – 8:30 PM (MON-THURS)

12:00 PM – 9:30 PM (FRI-SUN)

Romans Pizzeria is a spot I recently discovered while shopping in Merchant City. The eye-catching stonework and dimly lit interior give it a vibe that almost feels like stepping into Ancient Rome.

They specialise in Romana-style pizza, which is quite different from Neapolitan-style pizza, as it uses Caputo flour and has a thinner crust. If you’re a fan of crunchy and crispy pizzas, this will be right up your street!

Their menu offers plenty of choices, including gluten-free and vegan options, but my favourite is the VII pizza. It’s topped with haggis and red onions, and the result is a peppery and savoury bite that works beautifully with the mozzarella’s creaminess.

Pro tip: When you visit Romans Pizzeria, aim to arrive around 6 PM. Like most places in Merchant City, this restaurant fills up quickly at night, so arriving before the rush gives you more time to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere without waiting for a table.

Sear’s Pizza

Address: 8 Chancellor St

Contact details: +44 141 339 7777

Operating hours: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM (MON-SUN)

As a pizza fan, I don’t limit myself to recipes rooted only in Italian tradition. That’s why I like Sear’s Pizza, a place that’s all about celebrating New York-style pizza from the other side of the pond.

It’s another spot my friends and I often visit when we hang out. Their massive 18-inch pizzas are perfect for sharing, and the generous slices mean there’s no need to argue over portions!

Since we enjoy stepping away from the usual flavours, we often go for their namesake pizza. It’s made with vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, and pesto, giving it a creamy richness with a fresh herby kick that feels just right on a late afternoon.

Pro tip: At Sear’s Pizza, the dips are only £1.50 each, and they’re well worth adding to your order. They offer plenty of options, including ranch sauce, hot honey, marinara, and hot sauce.

We often pair them with the crusts so every bite stays tasty and nothing gets left behind.

Sano Pizza

Website: https://www.sano.pizza/

Address: 1146 Argyle St, Finnieston

Contact details: +44 141 339 8981

Operating hours:

12:00 PM – 10:00 PM (MON-WED)

12:00 PM – 10:30 PM (THURS)

12:00 PM – 11:00 PM (FRI)

11:30 AM – 11:00 PM (SAT)

11:30 AM – 10:00 PM (SUN)

With branches on Argyle Street, Bell Street, and Ashton Lane, Sano Pizza is one of the easiest pizza places to visit in Glasgow. They serve a solid range of Neapolitan-style pizzas that each have their own twist to keep things interesting.

This is especially true when it comes to my go-to pizza here, the Vesuvius Pizza. Named after the famous volcano near the city of Naples, it comes with tomato sugo, fresh mozzarella, spicy Calabrian salami, nduja, and fresh chillies.

As you can already probably tell from the ingredients I’ve listed, this pizza delivers a fiery kick that’s bound to jolt your taste buds awake. I usually order it with a tall glass of milkshake to give my tongue a break between bites.

Pro tip: Interested in making your own pizza? Sano Pizza offers DIY kits for £5 per pizza, and they’re a fun way to enjoy their Neapolitan-style pizza at home.

Each kit includes a doughball, semolina, mozzarella, tomato sugo, basil, and olive oil. To get one, just ask your server for a kit while you dine in or place an order online and pick it up later.

Dough Man’s Land

Website: https://www.doughmansland.com/

Address: Derby St

Contact details: +44 7517 374299

Operating hours: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM (WED-SUN)

Whenever I’m strolling around Kelvingrove Park, I often stop by Dough Man’s Land for a slice. It’s hard to miss, since it’s a converted vintage horsebox sitting at the southern edge of the park that draws plenty of people in the afternoon.

What I enjoy most is that despite the simple setup, they serve wood-fired pizzas that are fresh and hot. Their oven reaches over 500°F, which means pizzas are ready in under 90 seconds!

Their menu shifts with the seasons, but the most memorable pizza I’ve tried was their pepperoni and hot honey pizza. The pepperoni crisps perfectly in the heat, giving a savoury bite, while the drizzle of hot honey adds a sweet kick that balances it well.

Pro tip: Dough Man’s Land can be booked for corporate events, weddings, or festivals. They use their horsebox for smaller gatherings and a larger setup for big crowds, serving up to 120 pizzas an hour!

To book them, fill out the enquiry form on their website or use event platforms like Togather. For weddings, they’re also listed on Tie The Knot Scotland.

Amore Ristorante e Pizzeria

Website: https://www.amoreglasgow.co.uk/

Address: 30 Ingram St

Contact details: +44 141 553 0810

Operating hours:

11:00 AM – 10:30 PM (SUN-THURS)

11:00 AM – 11:00 PM (FRI and SAT)

Amore Ristorante e Pizzeria is a good choice if you want to enjoy Italian cuisine without focusing only on pizzas. Located in Merchant City, their menu is filled with classics such as spaghetti, risotto, and lasagna.

What I appreciate is that even with such a varied menu, they still offer a wide range of pizza flavours that make repeat visits worthwhile. I’ve been here four times so far, and the Tre Salsiccia has already become my favourite.

Built on a margherita base, it combines chorizo, n’duja, and minced Italian sausage. The tomato sugo is rich and tangy, the mozzarella melts into a creamy layer, and the trio of sausages adds a smoky depth that makes every bite hearty and satisfying.

Pro tip: Amore Ristorante e Pizzeria offers gift vouchers that make an easy present for any occasion. You can buy them directly through their website or ask about them when you visit.

The vouchers can be delivered either by email or post, and they’re available in denominations ranging from £20 to £200.

Address: 93 Mitchell St

Contact details: +44 141 345 2432

Operating hours:

11:30 AM – 9:00 PM (SUN and MON)

11:30 AM – 9:30 PM (TUES-THURS)

11:30 AM – 10:00 PM (FRI and SAT)

Franco Manca is another pizza spot I enjoy visiting whenever I’m in Merchant City. Their sourdough pizzas are always a pleasure, especially with the chewy texture that sets them apart from quick-rise dough.

There are six flavours to choose from, but Franco’s OG Margherita stands out for me. That’s because the ingredients are of high quality, giving it a fresh and tangy taste that feels like a proper classic.

The tomatoes used on this pizza are sourced from Italy, grown on the mineral-rich volcanic slopes of Mount Vesuvius. When combined with buffalo mozzarella, basil, and olive oil, the result is simple yet full of flavour and always satisfying.

Pro tip: Franco Manca has a loyalty programme that lets you earn a free pizza. All you need to do is download their app, where you collect stamps every time you dine in, order takeaway, or get delivery.
Once you collect six stamps, you can claim a free pizza.

The app is available on both the App Store and the Play Store.
