Value and Pricing: We reviewed drop-in rates, trial offers, and membership tiers to find the most cost-effective options in the city.

Address: 100 Borron Street, Port Dundas

Contact: +44 7564 041148 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM | Saturday, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM | Sunday, 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Every beginner knows that walking into a martial arts class can make the heart rate spike before the warm-up even starts.

Everyday Athlete Gym makes that first step easier with mixed-level sessions, so newbies can train alongside experienced regulars.

The gym focuses on authentic eight-contact-point striking, which means you’ll learn to use elbows and knees with proper technique rather than simply sweating through a workout.

Each session includes technical drills, pad work, bag work, and conditioning to keep training varied.

We love that classes run from Monday to Thursday evenings, making it easier to fit training into your routine.

If you stay consistent, you might even earn an invite to their exclusive Friday advanced class, which gives aspiring competitors something to work towards.

The main downside is the lack of weekend classes.

Pros

  • Consistent weeknight sessions
  • Teaches authentic eight-point striking
  • Invites to advanced classes
  • Includes varied training drills

Cons

  • Zero weekend training slots

Iron Skull Gym builds its striking programme around fitness and technique for everyday people, keeping the mats free from big egos and heavy sparring.

Certified StrongFirst coaches lead kettlebell and barbell conditioning sessions, helping you build strength alongside your striking skills.

They also focus on proper mechanics instead of exhausting drills, so you can build coordination and confidence at a comfortable pace. Plus, they separate sessions by age, allowing teenagers aged 14 and up to train safely alongside adults.

Getting to the gym is straightforward too, as it sits close to major transport links in Finnieston.

The main trade-off is that the gym doesn’t train active fighters, so anyone looking for a dedicated fight camp will need another option.

Pros

  • Ego-free beginner focus
  • Certified StrongFirst conditioning
  • Offers separate sessions by age
  • Located near major transport links

Cons

  • Doesn’t train active competitive fighters

The gym is kept clean

The gym is kept clean. It has good mat flooring (puzzle mats) that are in good shape. Bathrooms and the kitchen were kept clean in spite of the HEAVY traffic this past week. They have plenty of focus mitts, muay thai pads, kick shields, melons, and other equipment for Krav Maga training.

A brilliant gym and a great community

This is a brilliant gym and a great community. The facility is stylish, hygienic and very clean. The coaches offer excellent support and will push you to improve whilst still being approachable.

If you are looking for a kettlebell gym in Glasgow, or to train Muay Thai or Krav Maga in Glasgow I highly recommend Iron Skull Gym.

Address: 37 Rosyth Rd

Hours: Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM – 9:15 PM | Saturday, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

A newcomer can quickly feel discouraged when experienced regulars throw them straight into live drills.

Keep On Pushing handles this well with a dedicated six-week starter course that teaches beginners the basics of stance and pad work before they join the main sessions.

The workouts focus on authentic conditioning, with each hour packed with partner drills that build real stamina. They also cater to different age groups, including youth programmes that teach discipline to children as young as three.

Women have a dedicated Wednesday session too, with a focus on skill-building in a supportive environment.

Plus, the coaches organise weekend sparring for those ready to step up, and they match partners by size and experience to keep contact safer.

The main downside is that the women-only class runs just once a week. Additionally, the gym closes completely on Sundays.

Pros

  • Six-week beginner course
  • Youth programs from age three
  • Safely matched sparring
  • Free taster classes available

Cons

  • Women-only class runs once weekly
  • Closed on Sundays

We called a few gyms about their facilities, and one common issue came up: traditional fight gyms can feel freezing in winter.

Muay Thai For All Academy avoids that problem with a fully heated training space, creating a more comfortable setting for its zero-ego classes.

A veteran head coach leads the sessions and adapts his approach for everyone from complete beginners to experienced titleholders.

The academy also has strong Thai boxing credentials, with trainers who have real stadium experience in Thailand. They’re fully vetted and insured, which can give parents extra peace of mind during junior sessions.

Members can also test their timing against different styles through open inter-gym sparring.

But remember, classes don’t start before 5:00 PM. So, anyone who prefers lunchtime training will need to adjust their routine.

Pros

  • Fully heated facility
  • Coaches with stadium experience
  • Vetted and insured trainers
  • Open inter-gym sparring

Cons

  • Weekday classes start after 5:00 PM
