The Best Marriage Counselling Services in Glasgow for Every Couple Type

✔ Proper accreditation and experience - We only considered BACP or COSCA-accredited therapists who specialise in couples work, not general counsellors dabbling in relationship issues.

✔ Clear pricing and realistic commitment - There should be transparent fees upfront, and an honest conversation about how many sessions the clients might need, so they’re not emotionally and financially guessing.

✔ A safe, neutral space (for hard conversations) - The counsellor must manage conflict calmly, stop blame spirals, and make sure both voices are heard, especially when emotions run hot.

✔ Accessibility and discretion - We looked for those with a convenient Glasgow location or solid online options, reasonable waiting times, and strong privacy standards so clients can show up without added stress.

The city is full of great ideas and things to do for couples, with shared routines that can make a relationship look fine on the surface. But when communication breaks down and trust takes a hit, marriage counselling in Glasgow might just be the next logical step.

The couples we spoke to for this review weren’t just venting. They actively compared therapists by qualifications, availability, location, and cost.

A skilled professional can guide conversations that couples (or those in individual relationship counselling) can’t safely have on their own. Here’s a list of the counsellors who can turn emotional chaos into structured, honest progress.

How much is marriage counselling in Glasgow?

In Glasgow, private marriage counselling typically costs £75 to £120 per hour, while charities like The Spark or Relationships Scotland can offer sliding-scale fees based on household income for more affordable support.

1. Natalia Fair Counselling Glasgow

Contact: +447792272095

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM–11 PM

Website

The couple we interviewed about their Natalia Fair Counselling experience said they initially came in emotionally bruised but still trying. They needed structure more than platitudes, and thankfully, they got that from this counselling centre.

The service is best for intensive repair rather than light relationship tune-ups, especially when communication has broken down. The couple described their sessions as feeling calm and contained, with the counsellor keeping things focused when conversations started to spiral.

They also liked how neutral the space felt, with neither partner feeling “managed” or subtly sided against. Their counsellor stayed grounded, challenged them gently, and helped them talk about things they’d avoided for years (without it turning explosive).

Based in Glasgow City Centre, the sessions typically cost around £80 to £100. The centre uses an integrative, emotionally focused approach that digs into patterns rather than surface arguments.

We recommend Natalia Fair Counselling because they focus deeply on relationship dynamics rather than emotional well-being. The no-nonsense style made it easier for the couple we interviewed to commit consistently, even during a rough patch.

That said, it’s not the cheapest option in Glasgow. It may also feel too intense for couples only seeking preventative check-ins.

Pros

  • Strong focus on deep relationship repair
  • Integrative, emotionally focused approach
  • Neutral, tightly facilitated sessions
  • Evening appointments are convenient for working couples

Cons

  • Higher price point than charity-based counselling
  • May feel too intense for couples seeking preventative support

Helped me and my partner see an outside perspective

This counsellor is very good, helped me and my partner see an outside perspective. We were very happy with the service.

My relationships have become much happier and healthier.

Since meeting Natalia regularly, my relationships have become much happier and healthier. Her guidance is always at the forefront of my mind in a way that advice from other people/counsellors has never managed to be. I can talk to her about anything, and she always has such insightful views that are really helpful to me and allow me to process and manage situations in a way that is healthy and productive. I’m so glad to have her guiding me through life lately!

One couple we interviewed went to Glasgow Couple Counselling because non-stop arguments exploded between them shortly after their first baby arrived. They knew it was mostly from exhaustion and feeling unheard, but they needed a pro to mediate.

They wanted someone to slow conversations down before resentment became their default language. It helped that their sessions were practical, grounding emotional issues in real daily routines like sleep deprivation and mental load.

Their counsellor kept things balanced, making space for both partners without turning sessions into scorekeeping. They worked within an emotionally focused and CBT-informed approach to untangle stress, roles, and communication.

This service is ideal for new parents and couples under pressure, rather than dramatic, last-ditch repair attempts. Sessions typically fall between £75 and £95, with a free brief initial consultation.

If there’s a downside, it’s that this approach may feel too structured for couples who prefer a more open-ended, exploratory therapy style.

Pros

  • Strong focus on post-baby relationship strain
  • Emotionally-focused plus CBT-informed approach
  • Practical, structured sessions that tackle real-life stressors
  • Free initial consultation

Cons

  • Less suited for deep trauma or long-term infidelity work
  • The West End location may be inconvenient for the Southside/outer areas

When infidelity has shattered trust, a married couple will need containment more than comfort. This is what we gathered from a troubled couple we sat with, who went to My Solution Wellbeing Counselling to try to salvage their relationship.

They described their sessions as emotionally heavy but steady, with space to talk without things collapsing into blame. Their sessions sit at around £80 to £100, drawing mostly on integrative and emotionally focused therapy to work through attachment wounds and accountability.

They admitted to being impressed by how carefully their counsellor handled disclosure, pacing conversations so neither partner felt ambushed. Their progress felt slow but real, focusing on rebuilding safety before forgiveness was even discussed.

My Solution Wellbeing is best for intensive repair when trust has been seriously damaged. They don’t shy away from hard cases others might deflect, and use a structured, trauma-aware approach to help couples face painful truths and prevent them from pushing premature resolutions.

Do note that the sessions can feel emotionally intense and draining because of these, especially early on. It might not be ideal for couples seeking lighter guidance.

Pros

  • Expertise in infidelity and trust-repair work
  • Carefully paced sessions
  • Trauma-aware, emotionally focused approach
  • Prioritises safety before reconciliation

Cons

  • Sessions can feel emotionally heavy
  • Higher commitment requirement

Counselling & Therapy Scotland came into the picture for one couple because money stress was fuelling their arguments as much as the relationship issues themselves. They needed help badly, but not at private clinic prices that added more pressure.

The absence of judgment around finances made it easier for them to show up consistently. Their sessions focused on practical communication and emotional regulation rather than abstract theory.

This service is recommended for couples on a budget who still want professional, accredited support. The sessions are offered on a sliding scale, using an integrative, client-led approach that adapts to each couple’s needs.

It’s a community-interest organisation, not a profit-driven practice. Their mission-led model makes ongoing counselling accessible without compromising professionalism.

However, this means waiting lists can be longer due to high demand for low-cost services. It’s also less suited for couples needing highly specialised or intensive trauma-focused work.

Pros

  • Sliding-scale fees ideal for couples on a budget
  • Accredited therapists, despite lower fees
  • Community-interest model
  • Supportive, non-judgmental approach

Cons

  • Longer waiting times due to high demand
  • Less flexibility for last-minute bookings
  • Less suitable for complex trauma/infidelity cases

Helped us work through any issues, past and current traumas

At Counselling and Therapy Scotland, I undertook couples and individual counselling. The experience that I had was invaluable in helping during a very difficult time. There, I learned better ways of coping and identifying strategies to help manage anxiety and past traumas. Jenny is a great counsellor. I found her to be supportive and reassured that I was in a safe space to be listened to and get the help that I needed. I would recommend this Organisation to anyone who wants to find their way and work through any issues, past and current traumas, and to get to the ‘other side’ feeling more resilient and confident to cope with life’s challenges.

There was plenty of room for expressing feelings and thoughts equally

Jenny has provided fantastic counselling services to my partner and me! She was very patient and understanding, always giving plenty of room for expressing feelings and thoughts equally to each of us and continuing to support both of us so none of us felt excluded or shamed for our opinions. We have come so far in a short time with Jenny and have managed to significantly improve our communication and understanding of each other in just three months! I cannot recommend Jenny enough for anyone who needs a kind and understanding counsellor to speak with, especially couples!

5. MAC Counselling

The last couple we interviewed told us nothing was “wrong” exactly, but that their two busy careers slowly crowded out their connection. They came into MAC Counselling wanting to feel like partners, not flatmates sharing a calendar.

What worked most for them was how gently the sessions reframed distance as something understandable, not a failure. Conversations focused on rebuilding emotional closeness without forcing dramatic breakthroughs.

It’s best for preventative repair reconnection, rather than crisis intervention. The sessions typically cost £80 to £100 and use a relational, integrative style with Emotionally Focused elements to explore intimacy, priorities, and drift.

They’re well-suited to high-functioning couples who want depth without drama. The tone is consistently reflective, calm, and well-paced, which is ideal for couples ready to invest time rather than panic-fix problems.

That said, it’s not a great fit for couples in acute crisis or high-conflict situations. The methods may feel too subtle for those wanting fast, directive advice or clear-cut action plans.

Pros

  • Well-suited for busy, high-functioning couples
  • Calm, reflective therapy style
  • Strong focus on emotional closeness and intimacy

Cons

  • Progress can feel gradual rather than fast-paced
  • Fewer directive tools or homework-style exercises
  • Less appropriate for high-conflict or crisis-level issues
