The 5 Best Magicians in Glasgow to Pull Some Serious Fun Out of a Hat

Local Experience: We looked for entertainers with a proven track record across popular Scottish venues. Knowing how to work local crowds ensures your guests stay engaged all night.

Performance Style: Everyone needs something different, so we checked if their routines fit adults, kids, or mixed crowds. A good performer adapts to the room's vibe.

Professional Accreditations: We prioritised magicians with memberships in recognised industry groups like The Magic Circle or Equity. These affiliations guarantee a high standard of technical skill and professional conduct.

Value and Transparency: We checked how clearly they price their packages and if they offer upfront quotes. Nobody wants hidden fees ruining their event budget.

When planning a big event, you want your guests entertained, laughing, and actually remembering the night. Luckily, the best magician in Glasgow can completely transform the vibe, especially during those awkward lulls at a private dining venue.

But you don’t want just anyone performing generic card tricks. You need a magician who knows how to read the room and keep guests engaged.

So, let’s take a look at the top local illusionists who can bring an extra spark of magic to your next gathering.

Address: 38 Bressay Grove, Cambuslang

Contact: 0141 321 0041 | Mobile: 07710 988814 | [email protected]

Hours: Available 24/7

Keeping a room full of kids focused and laughing is no easy task, but Gary Dunn makes it look effortless. With over 25 years of professional experience entertaining crowds across Scotland, he knows how to keep party energy under control.

His full party package also features non-elimination games, so no child has to sit on the sidelines. Plus, he provides the music and prizes, taking more pressure off parents.

Another highlight is his team’s high-end balloon sculptures, with creative designs like motorbikes instead of basic poodles.

Safety also stays a priority, with everyone on the team registered with Disclosure Scotland.

However, his shorter one-hour magic shows are limited to midweek slots. For a weekend party, you’ll need to book the full two-hour package.

His silly slapstick style and monkey puppet may also feel too childish for teenagers who prefer serious sleight of hand.

Pros

  • Local Glasgow residence
  • High-profile client history
  • Punctual early arrival setup
  • Award-winning comedy magic

Cons

  • Weekend parties require two-hour minimums
  • Performance style too juvenile for teens

I honestly can’t recommend Gary highly enough

Gary was absolutely outstanding at Lucy’s First Holy Communion. He had the whole room in hysterics from start to finish! The children were completely entertained, and I think the adults enjoyed him even more.

We’ve watched Gary perform for years at Crieff Hydro, so it was extra special to have him there to help celebrate such an important day for our daughter. His magic, humour, and ability to engage everyone in the room made the day even more memorable.

I honestly can’t recommend Gary highly enough.

Gary was extremely professional at all times

Amazing day with Gary the Magician.  My daughter celebrated her 8th birthday party with 29 other children and Gary was absolutely fantastic with them all.  They sat the whole duration engrossed in his show and the feedback from the children and parents was phenomenal.  His performance was spectacular.    Gary was extremely professional at all times and was extremely helpful and accommodating with any questions/ queries I had before making the booking.  Gary made my daughters day extra special.

Address: 103 Hutcheson St

Contact: 07891 169 649 | [email protected]

Hours: Hours may vary. Contact for availability

Nothing breaks the ice at a fancy wedding reception quite like mind-bending close-up magic. Michael Neto delivers exactly that, and he made history as the first four-time consecutive Scottish Close-up Magic Champion.

His technical skills make it easy for him to adapt to formal corporate events and lively private parties.

He’s even showcased those same skills on Scottish Television (STV) Glasgow, showing that his illusions work just as well on camera.

Plus, because he’s based in the city, booking him for local events is straightforward.

However, his act focuses strictly on close-up sleight of hand for adults. He doesn’t perform grand stage illusions, and his style isn’t suited to children’s birthday parties.

Pros

  • Convenient Glasgow base
  • Extensive premier venue experience
  • Documented championship pedigree
  • Direct performer communication

Cons

  • Lacks grand stage illusion capabilities
  • Not suitable for children’s parties

Our guests absolutely loved him

Michael performed magic at our wedding during our drinks reception, and in the days after the wedding it’s one of the most talked about aspects of the day. Our guests absolutely loved him and we are so glad we booked him. We didn’t originally plan to have a magician but met Michael at a wedding show and he performed an amazing trick with my engagement ring which made us book him on the spot. We would highly recommend booking Michael for your wedding or event, you won’t be disappointed.

Michael entertained our guests at our golden wedding party

Michael entertained our guests at our golden wedding party. All our guests old and young enjoyed his magic tricks and were spellbound with his magic. Michael had a wonderful rapport with all our guests and the children were enthralled and entertained for the whole afternoon. If you are looking for a magician I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. He’s Magic.

3. TOP CLASS MAGIC

Website: topclassmagic.co.uk

Address: 15 Cathkin Ave, Cambuslang

Contact: 07732147345 | 0141-239-9582 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Sunday, 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Woody from Top Class Magic focuses exclusively on adult magic, blending Dynamo-style visual tricks with sharp, cheeky Glaswegian banter.

He even earned an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle degree with a stunning audition score, proving his world-class sleight of hand.

In fact, he made history as the first performer to win Scotland’s two largest close-up competitions in the same year. He’s even a fully insured Equity member, which makes clearing him with strict hotel venues super easy.

But because he tailors everything strictly for adults, he isn’t the right fit for family gatherings with little kids. His irreverent, teasing humour might also feel a bit too casual if your corporate crowd is overly traditional and stiff.

Pros

  • Genuine local Glaswegian banter
  • Transparent no-obligation pricing
  • Full professional Equity insurance
  • Sophisticated adult entertainment focus

Cons

  • Unsuitable for kids’ events
  • Banter too cheeky for strict crowds

He instantly won me over

We hired Chris Dinwoodie from Top Class Magic for our wedding, and he was absolutely fantastic.

A magician wasn’t originally something I had planned for the day. My husband was keen on the idea, but I hadn’t really considered it until my mum and I met Chris at a local wedding fayre. He instantly won me over. Chris is so personable, funny and engaging, with a brilliant way of making everyone feel comfortable, included and part of the fun.

His magic are in demand

The magic was exceptional and very entertaining. Chris is a very talented magician and also very personable and warm with wonderful skills in interacting with the audience.

For me the highlight was the fact that the magic was delivered at a good pace, and that there were a few surprises….magic I had not seen before.

The brilliant thing was that Chris created a real good feel vibe and everyone was both fascinated and felt involved.

People buy people and I can understand why Chris and his magic are in demand…an exceptional act and a good human being!

Address: 39 Murrayfield Rd.

Contact: [email protected] | Contact via web form

Hours: Available 24/7

Finding an entertainer who can confidently command a massive auditorium is tricky, but Cameron Gibson thrives on the big stage.

With over a decade of full-time professional experience, he blends traditional sleight of hand with psychological mind reading to keep large crowds engaged.

He also benefited from early mentorship through the historic Scottish Conjurers’ Association, which helped sharpen his connection with audiences.

In an interview with a client who saw his stage show, she said Cameron had the entire crowd completely hooked. That strong stage presence comes from years of performing, including multi-year residencies at iconic spots like Wild Cabaret.

Plus, you can book him for everything from casual drinks receptions to large theatrical setups.

But remember, he frequently tours internationally for cruise ships and theatre runs. Because of those long trips, booking him for a local event at short notice can be difficult.

Pros

  • Extensive local venue familiarity
  • Proven long-term residency stamina
  • Elite Magic Circle membership
  • Peer-awarded stage honours

Cons

  • Frequent long-distance international tours; limited availability

He was affable, professional, flexible and superbly entertaining

Our original magician was unfortunately ill at the last minute and Cameron was able to step in, travelling 4 hours at very short notice. He was affable, professional, flexible and superbly entertaining. Cameron provided close up table magic much to the delight of our guests and also a parlour show after dinner. He was flexible enough to cope with being asked to pause whilst our guests were whisked off to watch our high level silks performer.  We couldn’t be happier with Cameron’s performance.

He was absolutely outstanding

Cameron came and entertained a 30th birthday party for us.

He was absolutely outstanding.

Got him to do a 30 minute show which was brilliant.the he did a great walk around.he made sure he did tricks for everyone made sure no one was  missed out.

Highly recommend you book cameron you will not be disappointed.

Throwing a massive gala means you need entertainment that can easily scale up to cover the whole room. Steven Blair handles this with a multi-magician network, so you can book a full crew for larger crowds.

His interactive shows focus heavily on guest engagement, keeping the audience at the centre of the experience. He mixes classic illusions with comedy, giving guests plenty to talk about after the show.

Beyond the magic, he can also serve as Master of Ceremonies to help keep your event running smoothly.

Plus, he holds memberships with The Magic Circle and the Professional Emcee Association.

Just remember, booking a larger team means your guests won’t all see Steven himself. Since he relies on other performers, the styles and presentation can naturally vary across the room.

  • Recognised industry accreditations
  • Flexible team scaling for large events
  • Diverse stage and hosting formats
