The 5 Best Vet Clinics in Glasgow for Happy Paws and Healthy Claws

  • Emergency coverage: We checked whether each facility staffs its own overnight intensive care unit or partners with a reliable external hospital.

  • Preventative plans: Vaccines and parasite treatments add up quickly over a pet's lifetime. We looked for practices offering structured monthly subscriptions or bundles to make routine visits more affordable.

  • Specialist capabilities: Chronic illnesses often need advanced diagnostic scans and targeted therapies. Our research prioritised clinics with access to high-resolution imaging, in-house laboratories, and experienced surgical teams.

  • Low-stress environments: We focused on venues that maintain separate species wards, quiet feline-friendly zones, and unhurried consultation slots to keep everyone calm.

A new puppy brings plenty of joy and a little chaos, but panic can quickly set in if they swallow something they shouldn’t. In those moments, you need a trusted veterinary team that knows how to help.

A reliable vet is just as important as finding indoor dog play centres for rainy days or choosing experienced dog trainers. After all, your furry friend deserves a support system that keeps them happy, healthy, and safe.

To help you, we researched and compared the best vets in Glasgow, checking their credentials, prices, and service terms. Read on!

Late-night accidents usually mean frantic searches while your pet is in pain. At Vets Now Hospital Glasgow, the doors stay open every single day of the year.

A neighbour who rushed their dog here on a bank holiday praised the continuous intensive care monitoring.

Their clinical team runs an advanced 64-slice CT scanner on site to quickly spot complex internal injuries. They also handle severe immune disorders using therapeutic plasma exchange, which filters toxins when standard treatments fail.

The catch is that they function strictly as a specialist centre, so you can’t use them for everyday checkups. You also have to work around guided time slots to visit pets in the intensive care unit.

Pros

  • Open 24/7 every day
  • 64-slice CT scanner
  • Fast-tracked oncology referrals
  • Outpatient imaging available

Cons

  • No everyday primary care

Kept us updated until we spoke with the vet

Had to visit vets now hospital in Glasgow around 01:00 with our wee dog lucy as she became unwell and started taking multiple seizures, on arrival we where greeted by the vets assistant and she took lucy into the back to be seen to after several hour’s inbetween waiting the assistant kept us updated until we spoke with the vet, to which she had given lucy some meds to help with the seizures until our own vets opened later on that morning.

Over all from start to finish great service.

Would absolutely recommend trusting this team with your pets!

I can’t thank the Vets Now team enough for caring for Norman whilst he has been poorly. The reception team were welcoming, our vet Aimee was so reassuring and informative and talked us through all treatment options along with costs so we felt fully informed before making a decision.

Norman is extremely anxious and I was worried about leaving him there however I was so pleased to hear how gentle and understanding they were with him!

Would absolutely recommend trusting this team with your pets!

Anxious or special-care pet owners get top-tier interventions handled by European Diplomates.

The facility runs a specialist seizure clinic and utilises an on-site linear accelerator to deliver precise radiation treatments for cancer.

And because the pathology lab sits just minutes away on campus, your vet gets diagnostic answers without relying on remote couriers.

Unfortunately, you’ll face a £150 surcharge on out-of-hours consult fees if your regular daytime vet isn’t in their registered network.

Additionally, they don’t provide specialist coverage across every medical discipline outside normal daytime hours.

  • Extensive on-site diagnostics

Advice and care from the neurologist vets were amazing

We got referred here at 8pm last Thursday from our own Vet in Falkirk and our wee daschund was seen at 10am Friday morning. Rapidly progressing Grade 4 IVDD! Our wee guy was in surgery the same day, spine surgery, sorted and home on the Sunday afternoon and is healing up perfectly at home with us. Advice and care from the neurologist vets were amazing, all questions answered, all medications given and instructions to follow at home to help our boy get better 💙🐾

Cant thank everyone enough at Glasgow Small Animal Hospital – You saved my boy 💕🐾💙

I am forever thankful

We were referred from Perth to Glasgow as our cat was poorly, as soon as we arrived rascal was taken immediately for treatment, then a Gemma from cardiology looked after him she was such a lovely vet and kept us up to date with all rascals test results etc I got multiple calls every day, sadly the prognosis wasn’t good but without her we wouldn’t of been bid to take our boy home to spend his final week at home, and they I am forever thankful.

Vet and reception staff were incredibly kind and caring

Lovely vets, knowledgeable and very kind. I took my pygmy hedgehog here when he had a respiratory infection. He was treated with antibiotics and I was given lots of advice, he was back to himself in no time. The staff always made a fuss when he was in for checkups etc. He reached about 6 years old, and when the time came for him to pass the vet and reception staff were incredibly kind and caring. Could not recommend enough.

All the staff are professional and empathetic

My experience has always great, all the staff are professional and empathetic,Everytime I have seen the vet & nurses they have always listened and explained things clearly whether it be a check up or something more complex . As cat mum(of 4) with a kitty with a food allergy ,I was very impressed at the speed of diagnosis and treatment (3 weeks in total).

Highly recommend this vet to anyone

They also close completely on Sundays, limiting your weekend options.

The vet was really lovely

Reception staff are very pleasant to people and the dogs.  The vet was really lovely.  She made us feel relaxed and under no pressure to buy or get meds.  She checked our dog thoroughly before giving him his vaccinations.  She then advised us of things to look out for as he is getting older, which was really helpful.

The reception staff are really friendly

It is always a pleasant experience visiting Bishopbriggs Veterinary Centre.  The reception staff are really friendly and make a big deal of my dog and she loves the attention, making her visit to the Vet less anxious. Last night I saw Vet Natasha – she was lovely and very helpful, providing lots of guidance and took good care of Poppy.

5. Rouken Glen Veterinary Surgery

rouken-glen-veterinary-surgery

Website: roukenglenvets.co.uk
Address: East Lodge, Rouken Glen Road
Contact: 01416202580 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Saturday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Sunday, Bank Holidays, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Phone lines: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM

Standard clinic visits often feel rushed, leaving you with unanswered questions and a highly stressed animal. The good news: at Rouken Glen Veterinary Surgery, standard appointments run for at least 15 minutes.

This extra time lets the vet thoroughly investigate subtle symptoms and discuss flexible treatment options without glancing at the clock.

The team also helps nervous cats feel more comfortable with calming pheromones. Plus, separate hospital wards keep cats away from noisy dogs, creating a calmer environment for feline patients.

One client we spoke to also praised the clinic’s convenient delivery service, which sends monthly flea treatments straight to their home.

However, they currently stopped accepting new clients, so recent movers can’t register. The team also outsources overnight emergency care, which means existing clients may need to travel to another provider for late-night treatment.

Pros

  • Independent clinic ownership
  • Seven-day appointment access
  • Designated mobile vet visits
  • Rapid in-house blood tests

Cons

  • Not accepting new client registrations
  • Overnight emergencies handled by third parties
